Grammar and Spell freaks will always put you down if you make a mistake or misspell a word. It's their nature to do that.

At certain times of the month, some people get to be anal-retentive.

ps I've learned that after 3 1/2 years aboard.

You spelled Forfeit wrong.

And he spelled cums perfectly correctly.

I lead a horribly lonely and pathetic existence. The only way I can feel at all good about myself is by pretending I am in some way superior to someone else. And, sadly, the only way I'm superior to anyone is else is that I'm unbeliveably anal-rententive about spelling and grammar.

Please don't take this one thing away from me. It's all I have.

I very rarely comment on spelling/grammar errors up here, but I do notice them. It bothers me that people who want me to hire them have the attitude that "it doesn't really matter". It does. Poor spelling and grammar make the writer look less intelligent and lazy. That's not the image I want my employees to project to clients.

But that's the real world. In here, it really doesn't matter so long as the writer can get his point across.

On here I seldom point anything out unless someone is trying to appear to be superior and then they can't spell. My favorite was someone attacking someone else because the other person had obviously not been to collage! You just can't pass an opportunity like that!

Perhaps all this says more about the education system than anything else? Spelling in English is bad enough. Try spelling something in a langauge which has over 70 letters in use and 5 tones, like Thai! That is when you must get it right!

The more accurate your spelling is, the better chance you will have moving up the career ladder!

I really hate simple mistakes -- they are distracting and therefore make things hard to read. I don't have any room to talk as far as spelling goes, since I'm terrible at it; I most object to sloppy punction and a lack of capitalization.

At the same time, I rarely, if ever, call someone out on it. That's just plain acting like a jerk. And I'm sure that some eagle eyes here on this forum could find a mistake in this message.
