I have mentioned before that most gay conservatives & gay Republicans are opposed or uncomfortable with idea of "equality" that is used all the time within the gay community & gay liberal groups.

Perhaps you will provide us with what you regard as a valid definition of “equality.” Better yet, maybe provide some commentary about why you consider Mr. Hawley’s article to be an interesting item for discussion. What points did you find most remarkable or how would you criticize, illustrate, or parody them? Don’t quote it. Provide your own personal commentary.

Christians are only different because of the large secular influence , given the chance and desired circumstances many Christians want now or the church had in the past and there would be/was little difference between Christians and Muslim government/religion. Just imagine if the secular & moderate populations were silenced for instance in America. Look at the influence and pressure the Christian religion is constantly pushing currently more pressure now then 30 yrs ago in elections and the spew of constant hate all in the name of God. One God is as bad as another God and the people from these western based religions have little difference in wanting a theocracy.
You must see that even with your never ending hatred of Islam, and I am no fan of it either.

My how people forget yesterday quickly. It certainly was Christians in the south with the knowledge of the churches regionally that strung blacks up in what was known as a lynching with a burning cross as the symbol of hate. And it was not the church in these same regions that stopped it.

Totally off-topic: People seem concerned that the marriage rate is down to only 51% right now. Perhaps if the bigots and homophobes would back off, that rate would go back up. It would be interesting to see them twist themselves into a pretzel trying to argue against that.

I am aware of all these things and as a Pagan I know the violent ways of Christianity. However just because Christians do bad things does not mean that we should not condemn Muslims when they do evil or check the evil in the religion for what it is.

I tell you something, conservatives are fantastic when there is one key goal to achieve because that becomes their sole focus. Being generally narrow minded about almost everything, they can't ever argue against the inevitable (tho they constantly do so) where that inevitabilty stems from the general populations desire to progress. If they'd care to factor into the equation, democracy, rather than just what the governmental role in society is, then we would all progress a hell of a lot faster.
