Wuss. It get worse then that where I live.

i have never experienced snow that heavy.

but i can imagine having to deal with that for months on end must get pretty frustrating.

Well if you surround a state with lakes that shouldn't surprise you.

We probably get just as cold but nowhere near as much snow. Let's hope I don't live to regret those words...

Looks good for cross country skiing, though. :)

Here, in Aisle 7 Middle Shelf (aka central Colorado), it can snow a lot, but when it does, it melts off within a few days once the storm is over and the sun comes out. That high altitude sun is strong and it makes quick work of snow!

I grew up in central lower Michigan (Okemos).

I miss snow like that, believe it or not.

Actually, there's a new ski area at the tip of the Keewenaw Peninsula that averages 273 inches of powder a year. It is all black runs and completely ungroomed. It is getting quite popular with the 'X' crowd. About a 900 foot vertical, not nearly as much as CO but not anything like the yuppie atmosphere in most of the CO resorts these days (I'm trying to be nice).

Sounds like the kind of place I'd be interested in, if I could still ski (that's partly where the name "hotdog" comes from), especially if it lacks the glitz of Plastic Bavaria (i.e. Vail) or the ridiculous costliness of Aspen.

Still live in the Detroit area here. But as I get older the snow and cold gets to me. Would be nice to retire out west...Palm Springs, Santa Fe?

I hate the snow and the cold. That's why I move to south Florida. I only have to deal with going back to the Northeast for about a week around Christmas and that sucks (the cold part).

The snow is beautiful as it is falling and then it gets all black from the cars passing by and the roads get slippery and dangerous and icy....I hate it.

The thing that needs to go is the cars, not the snow! :-)
