Looks good for cross country skiing, though.
Here, in Aisle 7 Middle Shelf (aka central Colorado), it can snow a lot, but when it does, it melts off within a few days once the storm is over and the sun comes out. That high altitude sun is strong and it makes quick work of snow!
Actually, there's a new ski area at the tip of the Keewenaw Peninsula that averages 273 inches of powder a year. It is all black runs and completely ungroomed. It is getting quite popular with the 'X' crowd. About a 900 foot vertical, not nearly as much as CO but not anything like the yuppie atmosphere in most of the CO resorts these days (I'm trying to be nice).
Folks in Alaska would say that's looking like Spring.....all relative...
I grew up in central lower Michigan (Okemos).
I miss snow like that, believe it or not.
The snow is beautiful as it is falling and then it gets all black from the cars passing by and the roads get slippery and dangerous and icy....I hate it.
