I saw it tonight and it was INCREDIBLE!! Going again tomorrow. Did anyone else go to midnight showings?
I've read nothing but bad reviews, so I knew I was going to love it.
Good when it is good, but extremely, shockingly, horrifyingly bad when it is bad.
See the reviews that say its bad make me wonder what they expected in the first place.

Precisely. The direction was horrific, which was no surprise with a walking punchline like Bay at the helm. With all of the quick cuts and close-up shots during the action sequences, it was impossible to discern one "character" from the next -- they all looked like tangled masses of steel.I'm not sure, I might but the last installment's action and fight scenes left me thinking "What just happened?"
I think the problem is calling it movie, but I admit that if we were that hard on all products marketed as movies, hardly half a dozen would qualify as such every year.See the reviews that say its bad make me wonder what they expected in the first place. I went in expecting jokes and dope cars transforming into awesome robots that beat the shit out of each other and blew stuff up, and that's exactly what I got. And I can't wait to see it again!
Optimus Prime, Sideswipe, Bumblebee and Ironhide were outside the Arclight theater in Hollywood tonight too, so that made everything especially awesome.
I suppose that you realize you need to be "sub-normal" yourself, to a certain degree, to find him "incredibly charming"B: It's a movie that is deeply, deeply aware of the fundamental absurdity of its subject matter and makes no bones about it. In point of fact, it emphasises the quality and somehow makes a virtue of it. This is the cinematic equivalent of an A.D.H.D suffering, educationally sub-normal eight year old after too many red skittles and bottles of coke who can nevertheless be incredibly charming when he wants to be.
The funniest thing about that movie is that Megan Fox reportedly declined the offer to star as Wonder Woman because she considers that sort of projects "too lame"
Megan is the same fuckhead Angelina used to be at her age (I don't mean she is not mnow, she just got older and tamer): it this case she really looks like she IS the next Angelina.
