Why is the Republican Party so anti-gay??

The point is economic freedom exists and is worth far more than your desire for government meddling in gay marriage.

I love the word choice here... it reminds of a Scooby-Doo cartoon when the unmasked, crotchety villain proclaims, "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!" I'm pretty new here- with that word coice, for the record, what is your stance on gay marriage?

Go ahead and have you wedding. No one is stopping you.

As for this... #-o

Any thoughts?

Isn't the Republican Party supposed to be about small government, personal freedom, pro-business, pro-military, personal responsibility and fiscal responsibility?

So why does the GOP keep on demonizing & hating on us gay people? :( If this is about the Bible and "it's a sin!", well then don't Christians believe that Jews and Buddhists are going to the same place where "unrepentant gays" are going? Don't Christians believe that premarital sex, divorce, and having children out of wedlock is a sin?

So why don't Christians & Republicans demonize Jews, Buddhists, etc etc like how they do to gays? Why don't Christians & Republicans pick on divorced people and single mothers to the same extent they do to gays, or in their words "those living the homosexual lifestyle"?

But where are conservative gay people supposed to go, if they find some of the positions of the Democratic party to be a little too "left" for their tastes?

Has anyone heard of the Libertarian Party? Are there gay libertarian groups out there?

Just asking.

I know why.
They are hypocrites. They don't practice what they preach.

This tread...

I have not made a serious answer here because if you can't figure out WHY the GOP is anti gay, and yet support them anyway?

You don't deserve an answer.

It's like saying... Hmmm.. I wonder why I wasn't invited to the prom. Let me go in drag and ask.

Nonsense, neither Bill Gates nor Warren Buffet were born rich, and they did not steal from the poor. Nor Steve Jobs, Nor Oprah, nor the other limousine liberals in Hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be worth 350 million. The exact amount is not the issue.
It is an evil liberal stereotype that the rich inherit their wealth. Some do, but most do not. The point is economic freedom exists and is worth far more than your desire for government meddling in gay marriage. Go ahead and have you wedding. No one is stopping you.

That is not the issue. Quit derailing, Amtrak.

Just because you hear this shit spewed on Fox News don't make it true.

Go ahead and have you wedding. No one is stopping you.

Depends on which state or country you live in.

I know you're a troll, Benny, but could you at least try harder and not rely on the same tired routine of repeating BS as if were true? Thanks.

Anything to do with Organized Religion = Deeply Hypocritical
Republican Party = Party of Organized Religion = Deeply Hypocritical Party

In terms of why gays are targeted so fervently: people need someone to hate and the gay population is an easy target. It's small enough, full of a bunch of people that until recently have been conditioned to feel guilty and self-loathing, and it's a "sin" that is unique to us. Unlike adultery, greed, divorce, sloth, lust, etc. which inflicts the entire population, a straight person is not going to randomly "fall off the bandwagon" and turn gay one day- which makes it easier for them to hate us. And, then, there is the group that knows they are gay or has felt gay feelings, but ironically has chosen to remain in straight relationships where they are bitter, unhappy, and incomplete and take it out on us for finding happiness in who we are. I've always equated gay hate to when they used to claim that left-handed people were possessed by the devil; easy to do if you're right-handed like the vast majority of the population.

I just had to weigh in here, particularly what is bolded. I worked for the Federal Government for almost 40 years; I was 18 when I started; Nixon was the President.

I was hit on by senior male political appointees who were married. Pictures of the wife and kids on their desks, etc. Talk about confusion--I had figured out who I was but couldn't understand why a married man would hit on me, a guy. Oy, was I a naive kid!

Some of those "hits" were very obvious--one guy followed me into the men's room on several occasions. I started using the restroom on a different floor. One guy asked my boss to send me to pick him up at home to go to the airport on a Sunday because his wife was away; he answered the door with a towel wrapped around his waist and invitied me in. I waited outside.

I did not report any of this to anyone--it was the early 70's. Who would have believed me?
