Well the PS3 lowered the price of the core system in Japan by $50 bucks american...i can't remember the actual yen price drop...think that was due to the wii?
 
Most likely. the Wii in Japan, unlike everywhere else, is going to launch without Wii Sports. So the Wii is also cheaper there.

The other reason why they prolly lowered the price is because the 360 will support now 1080p thru an upgrade. Though Im not sure if the 360 in Japan can really compete with the PS3.
 
So have any of you Jubbers managed to preorder a Wii yet...I havn't found any locations here in Newfoundland who are taking preorders.
 
I had to work friday when the pre-orders started. There was already a line for the gamestop near me house when I was on my way to work at 8 in the morning. Called a couple of places when I got out of work but everyone was sold out already. Guess I'll be at the 24hr wal-mart on launch eve.
 
omg i have to go preorder mine today! i didn't know lines were getting so long, cuz as a hardcore nintendo fanboy, i'm used to nintendo lacking in popular support compared to the other consoles. this is gonna be an awesome holiday season, even if i get nothing else!
 
I was to our local EB games stores...and they were all gone...they each had 11 units and they were gone from all locations within a few hours. Oh well it looks like I'll be camping out for launch day haha.
 
Walmart is what I was considering, me and my cuz decided we would camp outside a store starting that evening...of course there are rumors that there is a store here in St. John's that sometimes sell items like this a couple days earlier. When the DS Lite was released (on a sunday as well if I recall!) that this store started selling it that Friday...so I may just have to go down and check it out on Friday.
 
Since there's a 24hour wal-mart near me, I think I'll be there around ten to try to snag one at midnight.
