The thought of being brought back to life up to 1000 years into the future is really exciting.

Yeah, but the hitch is, would the world 1000 years from now want you?

I want my naked corpse sporting a huge erection, thrown into a ditch in the nearest, most affluent suburb, so that I, MoltenRock, can cause one more, last, big, news story / controversy. Besides, whomever finds me first will remember (live in horror) for the rest of their lives, and thus my last wish will have been fulfilled.

Ideally, maybe maggots could have infested my eyes and ears so the person finding my body will be extra traumatized.

I'm going to be stuffed and mounted.

I aint too bothered...

Just as long as they make sure that I am really dead before they shove in a box in the ground, or before they set me alight....

Personally I want to go in the old Norse Style. I want to either be burned on a huge funeral pyre or set on fire once the boat is far enough into the lake (or other large body of water).

Six feet under......

I already have a plot purchased next to my parents.

I do not plan on using it anytime soon.......:D

As "morbid" as this thread may seem, I was almost killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. (Well before my time I might add.)

After getting out of the ICU, and hospital, I made sure to do all those unpleasant things we all should do; make a will, a living will as well, last wishes written down, and other paperwork such as this.

We never really know if today or tomorrow will be our last day, so it's important to let those that will end up facing tough decisions about what we would want.

Now days you're lucky to have 2 feet of dirt over the vault....... ;)

I plan on being liquified.

And then? The liquid is poured to a human mold and frozen to create a Marshmallow Man?

I'm going to be stuffed and mounted.

You mean you want to donate your body to the wax museum?

I want to be cremated. I don't want my body rotting in some box somewhere with worms and maggots and bugs eating at me. Hell no.

This. I want to be cremated, then have the ashes to be the soil for growing flowers or something (although my parents disapprove the latter part of the idea greatly).

But if possible, I'd like to donate my body to a museum of human anatomy to have it exhibited. That would be really awesome. :D

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THIS POLL?

I don't get it. Since when has the burial of a body in a coffin become rare and exotic?

Have the cemeteries in the United States introduced a law forbidding the practice? Or an extortionate fee?

In my home town in Scotland, EVERYONE gets buried.

When my mother passed away, she was buried in the local graveyard. Two spaces were left either side of her. When my dad dies, he'll be buried on one side, and when I die, I'll be buried on the other. The gravestone has blank space left for the addition of both our names, when the time comes. That will be my final resting place.

I find that a little more comforting, to be honest, than being incinerated and having only ashes and a pot left.

I would choose being buried any day, and I still don't understand the one-sided nature of this poll.

Obviously buried! I already have my new home and lot of land. And, as you can see, I have no need to fear the worms feeding on my flesh... I have none! Also, the fella on top now won't go in the hole with me. One of my relatives can put him out in their garden.

Burned and forgotten.

But take my organs first (when I'm dead) to save some other lives.

Zoroastrian air burial. Stick me on top of a Tower of Silence and let the vultures eat me.
This practice has been endangered because livestock are fed ibuprofen and the vultures who feed upon them are dying of kidney failure.
