Id get one though cos without one I think it goes off after 30 days without a key, and seeing as its free, its better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, but how do I get one?
It didn´t come with the installation kit.

Check Blackwolf's posts starting with number 36. Those screen shots are with Aero turned on.

Oh thats not good is it! You looked the problem up online??? If not try reinstaling the beta???

Not good indeed! It started OK, then Bluescreened and now can't do anything. Looks like I will need to re-install after about 1 minute of use! I found a couple of similar issues to do with Vista but seems a better idea to just re-install.

why does your taskbar look shitty like that?

Been like that since the BSOD.

It won't even let me send feedback to MS! Comes up with the same permission problem when I try. Anyone know if there is an alternative way to submit feedback/bug reports?

Enough of Windows 7!
It does not recognize my printer driver, so I just went back to my old Vista. Easier interface.

My background, I love the stickies app. Its what I wanted to carry over most from Ubuntu, never found a third party app like it.

Thanks for the screenshots. :D

Btw, Vista also has the sticky notes as part of the sidebar gadgets.

I think I will just wait for Vista service pack 2.
XP was buggy at first also and followed the release with service packs 1, 2, and 3.

Third time lucky! On my third re-install of Windows 7 it finally seems stable! No BSODs so far (Touch wood).

Sounds good then, how you liking it??

Yeah, it's not too bad. Been working from home today so have been using it to do all my work. It's definitely better than Vista. The new task bar does take a bit of getting used to but once you have then it should be better.

I also like that it doesn't annoy me with popups and warnings every 2 seconds. Vista was terrible for that, it would tell me everytime it did anything! It even told me when it was downloading latest TV guide information for Media Centre. I don't want to know!

How's everyone else getting on with it?

You can disable those notifications tho from the UAC.

There has been a update to Windows 7. Apparently they did something with Aero Peak. Preview on lifehacker

I installed it today at work.

For one, I was impressed at the install speed. I think it was something like 20-25 mins from boot cd to desktop. I was very pleased.

So far seems to be running fine. Boot time is really quick. But haven't done much as of yet. Still trying to get the crap I need to install. I have software that isn't tricked by the compatibility mode.
