Windows 7 tomorrow

Nice, you using it as your default OS?
I can't use it as my primary OS right now, because of all of my music etc and my Zune software etc.

But mostly, if I can stay in Win7, I try to.

so no-one here noticed that the application bar is soooo similar to mac os x's dock?

and hey, on my mac i can already go to a corner to see all open windows or go to the desktop!

When I show this to people in real life, I tell them the taskbar is like the OS X dock but better.

And seeing the desktop button is apart of the taskbar, not something you have to turn on in preferences.

Well, a full day of using it at work.

I must say, I haven't been this thrilled about a windows version since the shell preview on NT3.51.

I have noticed if I have too many tabs open in IE and I try and browse them from the taskbar, it starts to lag.

Aside from that, so far, so good.

has anyone noticed how i soooo dont give a crap as long as it is good

why dont you download it and try it and see what it is actually like

I found out when I turned the UAC off, the gadgets went away. FOund a work-around, but hope it gets fixed in the final.

Yeah I noticed that too!

Anyone found and good nternet security for Windows 7 yet. My Norton didnt work with my computer with 7 on it. At moment im using Kaspersky For Windows 7 but only has 90 days to try the beta and I plan on having Windows 7 till August 1st so any recommedations?
Use Avast or AVG. They both has full free versions that work fine if your not doing anything stupid or dangerous on your computer.

I found a found things going screwy:

If I try and map a ftp connection to a drive I get 'invalid handle' or something like that.

IE8 on one of the sites I use for work will not print the whole data.

Also in IE, printing select results from myphpadmin goes over one page. It seems it isn't keeping the format whilst printing.

send all that to Microsoft in the feedback thing. the more they know, the more they can do to fix it.

^^ I suspect it's a site and coding issue, not so much MS.

Well, 'cept the ftp thing.

I sent and email to the site keepers about my printing issue and they snap back "IE8 is not supported blah blah blah"

I replied "Hey, douches, I was letting you know you'll be having issues in the future."

Twats.

loving the gestures drag it to the left and it resizes to half of the screen and same on the right drag to the top for full screen

but my favorite might not be overly useful but grab a window and shake it and all the other windows minimize its just fun

If anyone is interested you can download the Beta of Eset 4 (NOD 32) for free from http://beta.eset.com/

It's a very good security program. Currently using the Beta on Windows 7 with no problems.

Also if you have a license for it already and are dual booting you can use the current release version on Windows 7 too.

even more simpler??? all that talk of ALU architectures, octets and stuff like that goes right past my head.

Simpler, which is better and would it work on the computer im on now which has the 32 bit one?
64bit is the future, and really no new computers will be 32bit. Definitely 2010 any new computers will be 64bit. So if you buy a new computer, get 64bit.

I just read that Microsoft announced six versions of Windows 7... you know, Basic, Home, Premium, Enterprise... where's that thread here on JUB with the version joke again?

It's a joke.

They will only have 3 versions.

Home Premium (for the regular user)

Business (for businesses)

Enterprise (for at home companies or small businesses. or people with really powerful computers)

I dont personally thing Enterprise is necessary, but it is there for a reason. A business version is necessary, and the Home version is tool
