Also, Zatanna joined the Justice League of America in 1978 (Issue #161) so she and WW appeared alongside each other frequently.

In issue #200 they battled one another as shown on the cover:

Thanks for the artwork references! The comics writer from the Philadelphia Daily News recently wrote that in the DC Universe Zatanna was pretty much considered "D-list." Her power of mind erasing was not approved of by the Justice League, so they kept her on the fringes until recently.

They had a small article in one of todays leading papers about Wonder Womans new look.

They tried to explain the reasoning behind her changes, can't really remember what they said but it was something to the effect of having her blend in and to not look to out of place or something like that.

I'm not really a comic or WW fan, but even I think her new look is pretty dope.

its ok... her new look is decent, but i agree that it doesnt really make her stand out.

It's not awful, but it's not interesting or iconic. There are some pretty innovations - like the belt which nicely uses some WW motifs like the red star to good effect.

The bigger problem isn't the costume, but the tone and revised origin. The revised origin that goes with the new look has her being effectively the survivor of a doomed nation, sent away in early childhood. Sound familiar? Try Superman.

In addition, the street-fighter warrior thing is wrong for WW. The classic WW was a tough but upbeat achiever, not a brooding warrior like Batman. She was supposed to be the most beautiful woman, who combined love and strength. For the last couple of decades she's been alternately a childish naïf or a butch warrior who is as likely to use a sword as her lasso.

If we're getting a revised origin and character I'd rather go with the classic character: a beautiful woman with extraordinary skills who doesn't use swords or axes - those are for the lesser-skilled! - who loves life and wants everyone to have it as good as she does.

I like this one better ....

I agree! ! !

Did anyone read what I wrote? lol. It doesn't matter. The writer will have to put her origin and costume back when his run is up. All the writers put their spin on it. This isn't that new.

I did, and I agree. There have been many changes in the past and this is only the latest. They will change it back before too long.

About seven years ago, the media made a big deal out of the fact WW's hair was cropped short. It was only for a few months.

There was the whole death of Superman hoopla - they brought him back. They then made his costume blue and white, with no cape. That didn't last for long.

It's an old game.

They're both on ebay...maybe at your local dealer too.
