  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Words you can't stand to hear.......

"Is it in yet?" (hehehe! just kidding!)

No, actually I can't stand it when anyone calls someone a derrogatory name. I'm probably more sensitive to it being a teacher, (and we know how kids can be), but it really bothers me when adults do it too...

"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW" or any of the closely-related Telephone Commercials/Solicitations!

At the moment my big hates are:

Tax returns
Pussycat dolls (wtf?)
"cat litter needs changing" Urgh
The end of summer "it's the end of summer"
Back to school, which also indicates it's the end of summer in the UK which means it will be getting all dark and gloomy.

A few words were already said, but there are a few I'd like to add:

"Global Warming"
"Melting"
"Global Disaster"
"Tsunami"
"The Republicans are responsible for the destction of our planet" (and anything similar to it, I might add)
"rising sea levels"
"climate change"

I use this term quite a bit but everyone tells me I need to cease immediately: I say "-ish" a lot (as in "When are you going to get here" Me: "About 7-ish" or "What day are you going to be there?" Me: "Probably around Monday-ish") Seriously, all my friends wanna smack the shit out of me when I respond this way. I really need to stop. Maybe later-ish. Just kidding!

"Like", when used in, like, almost every sentence, like, you know?
"You Know", see above.
"Starbucks"
"Iraq, Hezbollah, Middle East Conflict, Afghanistan", in fact, anything that even has a small smear of Bush's filthy little fingers on it.
And on that, any word ever uttered by that man since birth.
"24/7". What the hell happened to 24hrs?
"Anyways"
"Youse", the Australian word for "You people, You two, each of you" etc.
"NO", as in, "We really need to have sex with each other, don't you agree?"
(!)

can't......I tell people he moved when they tell me that

People that use double negatives, improperly use " them" instead of "these" or "those" and use "don't" in place of "doesn't," and generally butcher the English language. Why people want to be perceived as uneducated is beyond me. I get embarrassed when I am with a customer and a co-worker says something like "Them ones over there don't make no difference."

"I think the condom broke."

Plus a lot of the other derogatory words listed earlier.

Are you being serious? I dislike "hopefully" except when it's used correctly. Check it out; in most cases the speaker really means "I hope" and, I hope you'll note that "I hope" makes it personal.

"That's gay" instead of "That's stupid"

Faggot.
Nuclear being pronounced Nook yuh ler

I can at least live with the rest.

](*,) ](*,)

"pure queers." - it was used on this website but the person who "phrased it" has to the best of my knowledge never definied the term.

This would be a great time and place to rectify the situation should the individual see this posting and or pay any attention to it.

a local village idiot merely seeking a bit of knowledge and understanding into the worlds and minds of homsexuality

"previously disadvantaged"
...with respect to those that were, but am I going to hear this for all eternity?
