World's Tallest Building December 2009

Does anyone else think it looks like a stack of ten pence coins?

That's a pretty good observation. I don't know squat about design but I think it looks plain, but perhaps up close it looks better.

Why would they build something like this? What is it used for?

They built it to attract evil stinking-rich people who just want to spend money and put their over-priced crap on display. It's used for pretending that Dubai is a modern day Utopia.

Sadly, it's a city full of evil greedy people, built by slaves, run by barbarians and populated by people who are so sociopathically self-absorbed that they think it makes them cool to brag about having set foot in that big pile of tacky shit in the desert.

You think that building is just big for big's sake? the rest of the city is tacky for tacky's sake. Luckily, most of the people who it was built for are losing all their money and either fleeing the city or being thrown in prison for being broke.

Very pretty building. They got it built alot faster then the idiots in new york have.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks that thing is an eyesore, someone needs to tell them bigger isn't necessarily better. It's bloody ugly.

no no, I think it looks like someone giving you the finger. But i also think that stupid sailboat hotel looks dumb and the islands they built look just plain ugly.

But I'm like that.

That is amazing. I wish we had cool buildings like that.

Did you get up to the second observation pod? At one time many years ago, visitors could go outside and stand on top of the pods if the weather conditions permitted. I don't think they can do that anymore.

Of course, the glass floor is always fun to stand on. ..|

I got woozy just looking at that pic. Pretty amazing shot.

"We did. The arabs knocked them down." You're certainly not that "we".

Um.. ok. If by "we" you think only the people of New York City were attacked. Or if you think it was western culture in general.

But I really don't wanna argue about that anymore because 911 arguments got tired 8 years ago.

Yeah, sure, a commercial building attacked by 19 men, most of whom came from a certain country that the US has always supported, is an attack on Western culture, whatever that means.

And btw, the "we" that you had used was when someone had said, "I wish we had buildings like that", and then you had replied, "we did, the arabs knocked it down". I was questioning your "we". You don't become a "we" just because we are all Western, and certainly not for commercial buildings.
