What songs do you think are classics but ruined when covered by other artists?

Here is one of my favorite songs, "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus. It's about a high school nerd in love with the popular prep girl who doesn't even know he exists and is dating a jock. I guess you could call it a nerd anthem.



Now this poppy ass girl group, Girls Aloud, made a cover of it. I found this really odd because they seem like the type of girls who the nerd is in love with in the original version of the song. Stuck up cheerleaders. They just completely butchered the song. Have a listen.





Joan Jett's "Repuation". This was a classic and if you guys remember the show "Freaks and Geeks", it was the theme song.

System of a Down's "Chop Suey"


and once again, the queen of horrible cover songs butchers another classic. Damn this one is really, REALLY bad. #-o
 
I'm not sure if you've ever heard of a Taiwanese girlband called S.H.E. who has to talent but beautiful faces. They have covered a number of English songs into Chinese ones, which are all disarsters.

damn theres a certain song im thinking of but i cant remember it right now...

i actually thought madonna's love dont live here anymore was fine, especially the remix. but if you bring up madonna, then you have to mention her horrible version of fever.
 
There's Sleeping Satellite by Tamsin Archer, but a few years back there was a cover and it was so bad... by some woman called Naimee Coleman.. there was another cover last year which was marginally better than the Naimee cover, but still bad never-the-less...

Kelis did "Smells like Teen Spirit"?! wow...i don't even wanna think about how horrible that must've been.
 
Andy Gibb & Victoria Principal covering "All I Have to Do Is Dream" by the Everly Brothers. Just...trust me on that one.

Akon's version of Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin Something". :(

Akon has had some decent songs but he very quickly became one of the most annoying acts of 08. He needs to stick to signing hooks on rap songs and producing.

I noticed Rihanna covers a bit of this song in that stupid song "Please Don't Stop the Music".

Bastards.....


On a positive note, I actually liked Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal". They gave it more of a rock sound and it wasn't bad.

There is one truly awful cover i can think of at this moment.

Miley Cyrus - Girl Just Wanna Have Fun

She completely ruined that song for me! It's bloody terrible!

But a cover i did like was Evanescence who did Korn's 'Thoughtless.' I don't like Korn, but Evanescence's cover was the shizzle maan! :D

Dinah Shore covering Roberta Flacks First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
Trust me on this you dont want to hear it
 
Definitely Ashley Tisdale's version of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", it is so awful to ruin such a amazing song that could only be sung by the great Whitney Houston.
 
This isn't a famous cover - it's The Final Countdown covered by some local band, and someone dubbed it over the original music video, increasing its hilariousness ten fold.
