To me, it's simply you can make friends with anyone, gay or straight. It doesn't matter if they're too femme, or too "straight acting" (not the proper term), but to make a gay friend that doesn't want sex with you, it's just whatever. You find some people like that now and then, but hey, for the most part it's just a slight annoyance. Yeah, it'd be nice to hang around a "guy" guy, but it doesn't really matter. I have tons of gay friends, and we're all cool with each other, we all have different things in common, whether it's femme stuff or manly things, doesn't matter, we're all friends because we just are. Trying to find a gay friend, I'm not sure. Yeah, there are some too femme, but does that really matter? If you wanted them to be a friend, then their being out wouldn't be a problem.

Anyways, that's just my two cents.

After reading this entire thread, I believe you are much too choosy and will most likely never find the kind of gay friend you seek. Perhaps make friendships with gay-friendly straight men. Most of my friends are.... didn't plan for it to be that way but that's how life works out. I also have a number of gay male and lesbian friends. My best friend is a gay man and in the 27 years we have known each other, there has never been anything sexual between us.
