I posted this on Craigslist a little while ago, would you respond to this if you it was in your area, if not - why not? Any input would be welcome!



Tried this last week but all I got was spam and endless emails asking for a dick pic.

Friend and I are going out to have dinner/drinks in XXXXX tonight, may be a place where the staff know us on a "hello, how you doing basis" so you have to be discrete, you will be introduced as a friend or cousin or something like that, you wont be introduced as someone we met on craigslist.

We are from out of town and travel here quite a bit, and get bored just sitting at a restaurant in XXXXXX, not too much to do, so we would like a dinner/drinks companion.
I know XXXXXX would be more exciting but we dont like those areas, prefer XXXXX even though there are not many opportunities for meeting/picking up a cute guy so thats why I am posting here.

We will pick up the tab of course, all we ask is for your discretion.
If we find mutual attraction well that's fine, if not that's fine too.

We are late 20s early 30s, both attractive, respectful, discrete, one is latin the other white.
Both are around 5 foot 7 and 135 pounds in weight.
Wont send a pic, so dont bother asking.

You're basically just looking for a friend to go have drinks with? I really don't see the need for all of what you put. And the thing about needing so much discretion, when reading that I am wondering what you two are trying to hide.

I would prefer that the residents of my quiet little suburb not know what I do, its a small town, conservative and I am rather well known around this area and they LOVE to gossip, I normally would have at least 15-20 people stop by my table to say hello and happy holidays....... a third person would have to be explained, a friend from out of town, a cousin ..........
Need for discretion would not raise any red flags to a guy who lives here, they understand what the locals are like!
 
your message has a LOT - a really really LOT of details that could be talked about with a def potential meet-up. when it looks faorable, etc.

otherwise - just write -- WE're terribly OCD and have lots of rules -- forewarned is forearmed...

I'd rather it just be writtin in first person - and then you can add - "another friend will probably be joining us.
 
I would have responded and I would have made a great companion for the night!

I guess it sounds cold and business like but I am not looking for a friend, just a cute local boy who wants to go to dinner, have some drinks, have fun. He might have nothing else to do, except hang out at home playing with himself, why not take him out to have some fun!

I tried to explain that up front in the ad so there are no misconceptions.
 
I think you're really asking us if we think it's a well-written ad that is likely to garner appropriate responses. I think it is and I think it should. You've laid out what you're looking for and spelled out clearly what you don't want.

If I fit the criteria you were looking for, and I could, I could see myself responding. I think it's well-written.
 
People know we are a gay couple, I am fine with that aspect of it, no one cares, but I definetely would not want them to know that I enjoy the company of a third every now and then.
