Would you walk through a drive through, to get food?

My doctor's appointment is two buildings from McDonalds. Im tempted to do it.

Would you?

Which drive through?

Yes, I know there is skip the dishes, but it would be more expensive

We're a paying customer, not effecting their building, we should have the right to do it

Probably just Subway for a footlong tuna sub with everything on it and some nachos.

Not that they have them for Subway.

I pretty much only ever go to fast food outlets on the way home after a night out. I can't remember the last time I went to one when sober. Even after a few drinks, I can't imagine that I'd ever think it was a good idea to walk up to a drive through section.

Don't forget to make honking noises when they say (Pull your car around) at the first willow.

In the UK they would not allow you

I have seen signs in drive thru windows that say you must be in a vehicle - I have seen them at fast food joints and I have also seen them at banks...

It might not seem like a bad idea for one person when no other customers are around, but can you imagine a group/family of five or more in line with moving vehicles?

Mixing moving cars and pedestrians is a risky business. I doubt many businesses would want to be liable.

Look how well people with shopping carts behave themselves in a cash out line.:)

In any country on earth they would not let you. Anyone so lazy or stupid would not surprise me!

I think it might be a safety issue for both the employees and you.

Maybe you can order and pick up? Alot of places do that now.

Make yourself a decoy car, fold it up and carry it in your manbag.

Yeah you're not supposed to be allowed to in the US either.

You can't in Canada either.

But McDonalds have had all their outlets open (I think) for people to come in and place an order to take away. We've done this.

It's not just happening at food drive-ups. . .I've seen a number of people get out of their vehicle at the local bank ATM and utilize it just like they do a walk-up ATM. And, like a number of previous replies, it is not supposed to be legal.

Every time I place my order at a willow, it tells me to please drive forward to the next oak.

You can't do it. I worked at Wendy's in high school in the late 90's and saw a few people high or drunk off of their asses trying to walk to the drive thru after we had closed inside for the night. I think that is why they started to stay open later in the morning in the before times, pre pandemic. Gotta have Taco Bell open for those midnight munchies!

It's really a moot point because McDonald's inside is open now, at least here in the States.

I've not seen it at a drive-thru fast food restaurant. However, I have often seen people walk through and use the drive-thru ATM machines at the bank.
