Get tested ASAP to put the situation to rest and try to be more careful in the future. Just got to hope for the best like we all do.

Getting tested now is not the best solution. Because incubation periods differ per STD and range from days to months (HIV can take up to 6 months to show up on a test), getting tested now can give a false sense of security.

Mbamike, I would consult with a doctor as soon as possible. He/she can tell you when the best time to get tested is. My guess is a few weeks, then after three months, then after six.

Also, if you think you have been exposed to HIV (did you ask your partner?) and it's been less than 72 hours, you may benefit from PEP. Once again, see your doctor as soon as possible.
