More likely that Israel will try targeted strikes to temporarily cripple Iran's nuclear program. They have the most to lose should Iran develop nuclear weapons. Here's an interesting (but a tad alarmist) recent article on the subject if you're interested.

And in answer to this thread, I believe the people of Iran don't have a problem with us, their problem is with Ahmadinejadammit. Leave the attacking alone or let Iran and Israel fight it out without us. We can't afford another war.

Iranian "lust for genocide". Pretty over-the-top if you ask me. Remember the USA helped Saddam with intelligence and bio-weapons technology to attack and kill Iranian innocent citizens, while at the same time double dealing, with the Iran-Contra scandal.

Since most Jubbers weren't born then, the Iran-Contra scandal was Reagan's brainchild, and dreamed up to circumvent US law. The US sold Iran weapons to attack Iraq with, and others. The cash this scandal raked in, then went to fund guerrillas in Nicaragua to topple the legitimate government there because the US didn't like their government.

The USA's hands are are stained with the blood and carnage it has propagated in central America and the middle east region. It needs to keep its nose out of other countries business.

If there is some international law prohibiting nuclear energy I'd be interested to read it. The Non-aligned nations support the ability of Iran to have nuclear power production capability.

Remember folks. The power plant that is about to open didn't just get pulled out of someone's ass.

They are permitted to have nuclear power plants. It isn't as though they will have an A-bomb the day after it opens.

There's still time to catch them trying to enrich fuel for weaponizing and then to bomb the shit out of their centrifuges then.

Of course the Iranian people will rise up against Israel and the west as a result of this act of aggression, so if you're over there visiting, you might teach your kids to duck and cover.

But I guess it is much better that Israel, Russia and the US have stockpiles of thousands and thousands of Nukes.

Israel alone is thought to have over 400 warheads so annihilation of the entire middle east shouldn't pose a problem there.

India and Pakistan have the sub-continent sewn up with God knows how many pointed at each other.

And of course, no one probably even knows where all of Russia's nukes are anymore.

Britain and France can finally settle their and North Korea, with nothing to lose, might as well reduce the south to scorched earth.

Yup. there you go. China will be able to watch all of this from the other side of the great wall and as long as the breezes are right, should be able to put up with a few generations of deformed babies as a result of the fall-out.

Fortunately, the southern hemisphere is relatively nuke free, so unless we just end up with a nuclear winter to end all winters, they may end up inheriting the world.

Please provide cites for this. Additionally, even if that were the case, why do you think that might be, hmmmm? By dropping Iran into civil war and taking Iranian crude oil off the market means those small country's oil almost literally becomes more valuable than gold. Oil would triple in price overnight. The remaining oil exporting countries would be like you or I winning the Powerball Lottery.
