X-Men:First Class

Yeah wasnt phoenix supposed to save a planet then go insane?
not just go insane and kill professor xavier. plus for some reason I am recalling his associate moira being a mutant? you know the one they mentioned being a scientist briefly who had that guy with no brain function who we know xavier is going to possess?
I don't think Moira had powers but the story was Lilandra was telepathically communicating with Xavier and he went to Moira who was dating Banshee for help. I think that's how it went? It was a long story with the Phoenix. It involved the Star Jammers and Scott meeting his Dad. The whole love story with Xavier. All that alien off world stuff. Jean turning to Dark Phoenix. The Hell fire club. Jean dying. It really was a long ass storyline.

How can cyclops's brother be in the movie? the movie is set in the 60's?

I suppose its the same reason they made Emma in Wolverine: Origins movie the sister of that Kayla chick...creative liberalism?

I guess its in my DNA to be excited about anything X-Men related, but I hope this is better than Wolverine and The Last Stand. The x-men series is close to my heart it deserves respect lol.

January Jones (who I know nothing about) has me excited the most so I don't what thats saying.

I don't care if its trash and they completely messed up the storyline and such. I will support. I love X-men with a passion.

Which brother? Vulcan would have been in a Shi'ar slave camp at the time, and Havoc was on Earth and only a few years younger than Scott. SO...if you can use Scott in the 60's, you should have no problem using Havoc.

Also: They are using Angel Salvatore, apparently when she was a mutant, not when she was depowered and using a lot of tech.

My biggest two issues, ironically, are that Moira is not obviously Scottish and that Emma is not in her traditional Teddy O' Doom. But that's me...I still want to know what Azazel is doing there, but I can allow him and the others.

Oh: Does anyone else have a problem with a fully-haired Professor X or is it just me....?

I've got a friend who's working on this, so i'll support it for that reason alone. But if they're going to bring it back to the beginning then START AGAIN.

The teenage guys look hot. I just wish (as a fanboy geek) they'd stop fucking with the characters timelines and authenticity and stick to how it is in the comics.

This. Except, it'll never happen. Everyone wants to throw their spin on it. And there's that other reason they say they change crap because "the movies are changed for those who don't read comics." My thing is, even if they hadn't changed the origin, those who don't read comics wouldn't know either way. >=/

What the Crap? There's another X-Men film coming out? Where the hell have I been. I'm liking James McAvoy being in it.

emma frost is my fav character. hopethey dont screw up her portrayal

I also think they want to use the characters they want to use for the films. Emma has gained a lot of popularity in the last 10 years. She took Jeans place in the comics. It's her time even though it would have been best she was in the other movies and not a origin story.

The trailer has surpassed my expectations... love the uniforms! And everything is better with a Kennedy monologue!

My one problem is Shaw's size from I first saw him in the animated series he was always a bulky man. But until I see his power in action I'll give the benefit of the doubt.

I loved all the Xmen movies accept the first one, Bryan Singer really fucked that one up. This trailer looks better than Thor, GL and all the rest of all the super hero movies coming out. Captan America looks horrible and super cheesy.

All of that, plus the fact that - and this is the killer - Phoenix was not supposed to be a dual personality, it's supposed to be a Cosmic Entity.

Xavier: "I forgot to warn you, Logan...Jean has a dual personality and I've been keeping it hidden because it's so damn powerful."

Ok, so maybe I went over board with that. But I keep forgetting these movies hardly stay true to the comics and have their own reality, same with the tv shows.

the problem is that it WAS a dual personality... in Ultimate X-Men... As was the fact that Multiple Man was a bad guy and Juggernaut was a mutant..

All 3 of the original movies took bits and pieces from BOTH continuities. Ultimate and 616...

This movie is very similar to the Spiderman series in that it is sort of a "reboot"

^- not a reboot at all, its a series of prequels.

Think the new star wars but hopefully not shitty, with the Wolverine Origins being Star Wars Holiday Christmas Special ;)

and yeah...surprisingly I liked what I saw...cautiously optimistic
