X-Men's 3 most powerful MEN

so, the women of the X-Men thread got me curious about who everyone thinks are the most kick-ass guys from the X-teams. perhaps we should do current characters only, considering the fact that there are hundreds to pick from?

From the team, I'd say:

Professor X - the most powerful telepath on the planet...'nuff said.
Cyclops - those beams can be motherfucking powerful and he never runs out of energy so...limitless endurance.

Can't think of another really powerful male in the team. Um...help?

i think Cable is a contender for sure, as well as Pete.
Wolverine? i think Elixir is pretty powerful, he can literally kill with a touch (or heal).

if you base this on how powerful the characters have been at one point the most powerful are

cable (techno virus limits his powers)

gambit (mr sinister removed a part of his brain that would have made him crazy powerful... he could blow things up by looking at them)

prof X (the guy is in a wheelchair and there are too many psychic resistant bad guys)

now theres also a bunch with a lot of potential

elixer has the possibilites to alter matter... he can heal and hurt.... but when he hurts it sometimes backfires on him...

anole has a lot of potential too... he regrows body parts stronger than they were before... and he can camoflauge and stick ot walls... that and he can do wonders with his tongue.. lots of potential there

I also didn't know about Gambit...that's awesome! I would've liked to see that!

Colossus can be pretty powerful. Although, when he fought against Juggernaut, he couldn't win.

phoenix... gladiator... the hulk... maybe thor (I wonder if they ever fought?)


but yeah gambit would have been imensley powerful... there was a story arc where a gambit came from another earth dimension... he was fully powered... in his world his powers manifested and he burned the planet and every one it other than himself to ash

Nathan Summers??? Not a current X-man, but whatever.

Iceman - Not only is there virtually no limit to his powers he's also my favourite X-Men

Havok - This guy is a cosmic battery... Plus it has been shown in the past (AoA) that his power is even stronger than his brother's.

Archangel - Now that he has control over when he can switch from blades to feathers plus his secondary mutation of having healing blood makes him pretty fucking powerful.

Wolverine comes in at a close runner-up...His healing factor plus his martial training make him a tough contender.

Now if we are going for villains....

Apocalypse - The guy has been around for ages and ages plus has near limitless power derived from his Celestial armour. He has also been resurrected more times than Jean Grey and that shows staying power.

Exodus - This is a guy with more psychic potential than Xavier could imagine and it nearly winded him just to partially defeat him.

Vulcan - He killed his own father and defeated BOTH of his brothers and gave Phoenix (Rachel) a run for her money.

I wanted to add Sinister but he's a woman now so he doesn't necessarily count for this thread and Juggernaut but he's been so wishy washy and unstable lately that he's diminished a bit in my book.

My Top 3 would be Professor X (world-s most powerful telepath), Magneto (master of mganetism, and, unlike a number of suggested ones, a member of the X-Men at some point), and Iceman (major power + versatilty, and there is that accounting background!).

Northstar, one of my favorites and he's on our team!

X-Man, almost limitless power rivaling even Phoenix

Cable, effectively X-man's less psionically powerful twin but nonetheless formidable having fought almost all of the still-powered mutants in the Messiah Complex story line, and always running around time fouling up Apocalypse


Others of note:

Quentin Quire is an omega-level mutant who can manifest Phoenix

Ink has Poenix-like powers, but he's just a mere flatscan

Helion's telekinesis is pretty powerful

Since I'm no X-man nerd, Mine are probably a wee bit off, but I would have to say;

Wolverine, for the obvious reasons.
Ice Man, as previously said, has virtually no limit to his powers, as he has near unlimited power.
And for third it would probably be a tie between Colossus, and Professor X. Colossus is just so powerful, that very few things can actually stop him, and although Professor X is one of the most powerful of the X-Men, he is limited by the wheelchair, and as said before, the amount of psychic-resistant enemies.

Wolverine???I'm no X-Pert, but come on. This is just as bad people who kept saying Rogue in the female thread. I understand their personas as they are supposed to be tough guy/tough girl and I'm a little biased towards Rogue myself, but let's draw the line somewhere.

Where they excel is one-on-one battles, unless it's against an unusual brawler, but are we really trying to put them in the same category as mutants who have the abilities to destroy the Earth and/or Universe? Some of whom have been around since the beginning of time?

Wolverine does have a healing factor, but he can die. There are plenty of non-omega mutants who could kill Wolverine; of course, since he's the cash cow of Marvel, that would never happen, especially in the X-Men Universe. However, let's not confuse popularity with sheer power.

Cable, Bishop, Gambit, and Professor X aren't part of the X-Men right now..Madrox, Strong Guy, Rictor are part of X-Factor (who have distanced themselves away from the X-Men)

you need to add Cannonball, Dr. Nemesis, Madison Jefferies, the Vanisher (since he's part of X-Force now
