... I'm from the UK and I'm not sure how many others are here.

What to say? I'm 18, Scottish and in my first year of university. My case is nothing out of the ordinary: I'm out to my friends but not yet to my family but I'm pretty sure they'll be ok with it. That's the next step!

I'm not sure how personal you're supposed to get in your first post but there it is! Anything else feel free to ask!

Welcome

Come out to them when you feel ready to.......when you say different spellings you mean colour instead of color or on Holiday instead of vacation?

Re: You'll have to put up with my different spelli

Welcome to JUB! I am in the states. My mother was Irish and my dad was English. There is some Scottish in there on my mom's side.

Re: You'll have to put up with my different spelli

hey there fellow brit, there be a number of us here so you needn't worry about any different spellings - no one really flames you for things like that here - in fact its a pretty laid back forum!

Im also on my first year @ uni, still meeting people and finding the best circles to fit into... but i hate assignments :D

anywho, Post loads, make friends and enjoy yourself!

You're scottish? Where about? One of my really good friend is from dundee. :) Impossible to understand him most of the time, but we had fun. :)

I never realised (I think that's one, Jory) just how many people you meet in first year, that and we're only half way through! Pretty hectic times and the assignments don't make it any easier, you're right.

I grew up in Aberdeen, I like to think we're harder to understand up there! Now in Edinburgh though which is significantly more gay-attuned, it's quite a change of pace!

Thanks for the all the welcomes, cool to see everyone's nice here and have also experienced the whole "coming out to family" thing.

Hmmm, long second post...
