Your new gay Diva, Ms. Jennifer Hudson, is a homophobic bitch!

Wow some of these posts are harsh.

This is obviously another case of an article written by a famewhore - this echoes the whole Carol Channing thing weeks ago.

*yawn*

From what I read she stated the Bible says its a sin - which it does, but she also said the Bible says not to judge others - which it does. The girl said she doesn't judge people - how could anyone say she's a homophobe? And really - if she was - would she be performing at the Saint-At-Large party?

No. I don't think so.

No. I don't think so.

Now that you mention this, I think this eerily resembles the Parump Nevada episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip a couple of weeks ago. Harriett Hayes gave a quote about gay marriage, saying that the Bible says homosexuality is a sin, but it also says judge not lest ye be judged -- and gay guys confronted her saying that she was a homophobe.

I think this "journalist" watches too much television.

This is one of the most pointless threads I've ever seen in my life.

Any idiot with half a brain can tell they completely misused her quote and made it seem like she was saying something she clearly wasn't.

This will be yesterday's news in a week.

NEXT.

I know when somebody has insulted me. She needs to apologize.

Gay people need to stand-up for themselves and not accept this shit.

I don't give a fuck what her religion is, that doesn't give her the right to spout that hateful shit because she has a mouthpiece now that she's a celebrity.

I don't play that shit. :nono:

Not just no, but HELL NO!

If you all don't want celebs to feel comfortable saying shit like that about us, you'd better speak up!

Did you even READ the entire article? She says that the Baptist church TEACHES that being gay is a sin but SHE herself does not judge. The interviewer backed her into a corner. There was no way for her to answer that being gay ISN'T a sin, because according to the Bible and the way the Baptist church interprets it, it is.

I swear, sometimes people don't think before jumping to conclusions.

Seriously, what did she really say there that was that bad?

Nothing at all. It's just when the stupid paper prefaces the article with the headline..

JENNIFER HUDSON: "BEING GAY IS A SIN"

People are already ready to pounce and don't read the damn thing to see what she REALLY said as opposed to what the interviewer was trying to GET her to say

I wish peopel wouldn't defend her for this.

I mean you can liek her, but you don't have to defend her or feel obligated to when she spews something like this shit out.

It really shouldn't be defended no matter how much you like the person.

Spews something like WHAT out?

calling her a homophobic bitch just for saying that was way out of line, she's said publicly before that she's a huge supporter of the gay community.

Seriously, what did she really say there that was that bad? So many people are up in arms over this, but even the first time I read the article (and I re-read it a few times to see if I was missing something) I didn't see anything there that was remotely homophobic.
I did the same, too. I swore I was missing something.

I wish peopel wouldn't defend her for this.

What shouldn't be defended? Jennifer spewing her hateful "to each his own. If it don't bother Jennifer, then Jennifer don't mind...?" Or how about her derogatory, pungent remark of "I DON'T BELIEVE IN JUDGING PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY DO."

Ugh! That girl should be hunted down and beaten up for spewing such homophobic garbage!

LMAO!! Amen!

Some of y'all are some of the most gullible individuals in the world. She was basically equating that "to each their own". So what the fuck is the point of this thread? Nevermind, it is James. James, you are just itching for a swish beatdown aren't you?

It may not bother her, but she still said it was a sin.

either way she's being a hypocrite and sinning right there.

If she didn't mean it she shoudl of chose her words more carefully. Especially if she expect to "support" the gay community.

I'm sure some gay christians who are her fans, feel just great about being called sinners.

Jus tliek I'm sure many members would get offended if they were told they're an abomination.

Oh and I never said she should be beaten, or killed.

I'm saying she should of chose her words better. Perhaps come out publically and clear up this interview.... too bad she hasn't yet.

Uh, Effortless Pro, the article was just not published in the past week or so. Anyways, I am a journalist, and trust me when I say, "We can find ways to twist your words if we really wanted to." It is called "sensational journalism", it is the manipulation of stories or articles so that it will get a rise out of the average reader, viewer, or listener. The most controversial journalists and broadcasters do it all the time.

You're an idiot.

This was posted on her blog yesterday.

It should be a happy day because I heard that the National Board of Review picked me as one of the BreakThru Actresses of the Year. What an honor. I was so thrilled when I heard. But it turned into a sad day and I can't understand why or how this happened. When you are up, people try to tear you down. Some paper is saying that I have a problem with gay people. Its just mean and wrong. My feelings are so hurt and I can't sleep. Anybody that knows me, knows that just ain't true. Its makes me so mad that people can twist your words and say anything they want. And, there's nothing I can do about it, except to say,
please don't believe everything you read.

Even though she didn't say the which exactly the paper was saying I'll take that.

I never said she was a bitch, or incited violence agaisnt her. Oh by calling me an idiot isn't going to help make me believe the quote. BUt I'll take it for what it is.

(so really I'm an idiot because I didn't goto her site?)

Frak you.

No, you're an idiot for:

1. Not being able to sift through obvious media manipulation of a really simple statement

And

2. For saying she needs to respond so that she can "clean up" what she said, even though she already had.

Thanks Tierra Simms, I realise that Journalists do that, it's just at first glance it did look like she made a rather obtuse suggestion. For the record, calling up people on "sins" is apparently a "sin" and being a hypocrite is aparrently another "sin".
Now I didn't know Ms. Hudson made a rebuke of that interview, now that someone has provided that, even though he feels the need to insult me after that. Hudson obviously felt there was a misconception of her words or that the way they were twisted were offensive.

You still don't even seem to grasp what it is she said in the interview. I'm not going to bother arguing anymore with someone who's either 12 or under-read.

I don’t really even think about it because I don’t believe in judging people for what they do.”

Then she said,
“According to the way we’re taught, and what it says in the Bible — it is.”

So, she has thought about it.

She can't straddle the fence, neither can we, unless you'd like to end-up institutionalized, or dead, from so much self-loathing that you're suicidal.

What she said and the way she said it was wrong, if she wants to be a friend of the gay community.

I'm still confused as to how you wanted her to answer the question. The Bible clearly states that it's a sin. How is she supposed to get around that?

Exactly. That's like saying people who are friends of the gay community NEVER EVER EVER attend church and NEVER EVER EVER have read Leviticus and NEVER EVER EVER heard people around them say homosexuality is a sin.

WE ALL HAVE HEARD IT AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THE BIBLE ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE.

I'm failing to see what's so wrong with her stating that although that's what she's been told, she still doesn't believe in judging people?

James started this bullshit, and I can't believe SOOOO many people are buying into it. I mean, shit! What do we want? People to not have their own spiritual beliefs and go to church? Or is it okay for them to go to church, but not okay to talk about it?

I don't get what these people want from Hudson. Do they want her to denounce her religion? Do they want her to view Cher, Barbra, and Madonna as the Holy Trinity instead of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

It disappoints me as a believer of God and Christ that people are so willing to assume other spiritual believers are so full of anger and hatred and judgment that you can't even be allowed to say "Yeah, I'm a Christian."

My pastor sho' nuff wasn't lying when he said that it ain't easy.

As you've no doubt noticed, I have an issue with organized religion.

Ms. Hudson can believe whatever she wants, of course, but don't expect me to be thrilled when she spouts what I consider to be hogwash about gay people.

I don't believe it's a sin. I don't believe the Bible is anything other than made-up.

Too many gay youths have committed suicide because a Christian "Bible" dominant society has driven them to it.

I feel that "Gay Christian" is an oxymoron.

If I needed one, I'd find another religion that wasn't so damning of me.
If that's how you feel, that's how you feel. I just wish people would stop equating people who happen to be Christians for whatever their personal reasons might be with bigots and racists and people of hate and discrimination... because if that's what you feel you get from a person who calls themself a Christian, then they're not a true Christian, my friend.

Jennifer Hudson apparently has her spirituality situation in a place where she's comfortable. It works for her, and I am proud. I, too, am a Baptist who happens to be homosexual, and I find her words encouraging. So, just because it offends you because you or others refuse to accept anything Christian or Biblical doesn't mean she WRONGED the entire Gay Community for saying what she did. Even though it's obvious her words were twisted to fit this journalist's agenda, I still understood her point even before she released her statement about her words being twisted.

Her overall message which people are trying hard to ignore for some reason is that in her belief we all are sinners, therefore she has no right to judge anyone as if their sin is greater than anyone else's. So if what you're doing doesn't have any effect on her or her life and well being, then she doesn't have an opinion on the matter... which, if I'm not mistaken, is what the gay community has been saying all along about this whole marriage issue. Why are members of the straight community acting like a marriage between two consentual members of the homosexual community has anything to do with their precious heterosexual union? It doesn't, so why do they care?

But the minute "Bible" and "sin" got into mix, people just went berserk and closed themselves off from anything else she had to say.
