well - I never had one but in my oldest cookbook from early 1800 there is a recipe... I remember stories from post WW II days that people would eat them, said it tasted like chicken but you have to be careful with the skin

I had rabbit once as a kid when my parents bought some at the supermarket. It seems I vaguely remember that it tasted like chicken. I'll say meh.
