A German teenage boy who always wanted to be a girl underwent a sex-change operation last month, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.
At age 16, Kim Petras -- born Tim Petras -- is believed to be the world's youngest transsexual. She began undergoing hormone therapy when she was 12, The Sun reported.

Do you think 16 is a little young for such a huge procedure? Many people are still so confused at that age.

Sounds a lot like that was parental pushing. Hope Kim is happy with it when she gets older.

hello MP

Have a friend who started hormone therapy when she was 15, it's good for her because it stopped her from getting that last growth spurt that men get in their teens , shoulders getting wider, facial hair and such.

That's kinda sad. I'm really open minded and all.. But I never understood why someone would go as far as getting a sex change. Just suck it up. Put on a dress and go clubbing. Who the hell wants a vagina anyway.

it's really hard for most of us to understand the agony associated with being transgendered.

My friend once explained to me that he always believed he was a she. For the longest, he hoped that his penis would fall off and that in its place a vagina would grow. He even said how he couldn't look at himself when he showered because it felt as if he had a horrible defect. Now he is really a she. And she says she wish she would have done it sooner so to avoid all the stress and confusion associated with having a physical defect

As she is such a young age I think it is unfair for anyone to be judging her. I am sure Tim had to go through a lot with his doctors to be sure that he was ready to make such an important decision. I don't think they would of given him the treatment if they weren't sure it was what he wanted.

(*8*)

Eh, whatever makes them happy I guess. I just think it's so damn weird.

I mean I'm a gay guy.. And very much love being a guy. I can't understand for one second why another guy would want to be a chick.

I can see why a chick would want to be a dude tho :p

I'm not a chauvinist. I wasn't being 100% serious in what I said.

But I do still think it's really weird for anyone to go through a sex change. It's altering who you are. And I do know people who have gone through it. And I'm friends with some. I don't give a damn what they do. But it still sits as odd with me.

Many people are still so confused at that age.

I think there's a difference in confusion over sexual orientation and gender. I think those who are transgendered that they're different earlier than gay people realize they're gay.

Look, if you're born a guy and you have surgery to become a woman.. it's altering yourself. How can someone even question that?

I just can't wait to put on my favorite bathing suit and go swimming like I've never done before

I found this quote particularly uplifting.

More power to her...

He was 16. I'm sorry but 16 year-olds are dumb as hell. The parents should have not pushed him towards this. And I am open minded. I said I don't care if people get sex changes, again.. whatever makes them happy.

But this kid is only 16. It's not right. He's a stupid teenager. I spent my teenage years trying to convince myself I was straight. If I had to make the choice back then, I would have chosen to be straight. But I grew out of it and realized being who I am was really not that bad at all.

Once it is done, it is reversable. So now he/she will have to live with it. In a way, transgender people have a point where they can exercise a choice, but most of you are right, 16 seems a bit young. There could be some more maturational problems ahead.

Shep+!oops!:grrr:

If your born a man, but you brain (the controller of all the body) thinks it is a woman, you are simply becoming what your brain thinks and feels it is.

Not all teenagers are like you. Some are very smart and have to grow up faster and make life decisions early on in life. She made her life decision and her parents felt that she made the right decision.

When I was 16 I excepted I was gay and moved on. I never once tried being straight.

Your arguements are really quite funny to listen to.

i thing having the sex change at that age is wrong, not just because teens are fickle and irresponsible, but it's a risky procedure that can ruin her life if done poorly

Oh yes, you're right. Most 16 year-olds are brilliant lil bastards.

The kid should have waited a couple more years. Simple as that. Any parent who goes and lets their 16 year-old son have a sex change needs a slap across the face.

I mean, some of you are treating this like it's no big deal. Having a sex change is a HUGE deal. Especially for the kid who is barely old enough to drive.

Teenagers go through a lot of drama... They suffer. Every single one of them. This kid should have waited till he was older to make a decision as huge as that. He thinks life is gonna be a joy now? No, it's not. He now as to tell every person he meets... aka every boy friend/girl friend that he was once a boy.

His life just got a lot more complicated at the age of 16.

She doesnt have to tell anyone he was once a boy. In the eyes of the law, and to her and her parents and everyone else, he is a girl.

Him waiting 3 more years to have the sex change is no different from right now when he got it. He knew what he wanted, and he got it done early.

And to be honest, no one is allowed to have a sex change until they know ALL the implications involved.

I don't think any person should have to have surgery on their body in order to feel the way they want to feel about their place in the world.

I think it is far more liberating, if you are feminine on the inside and masculine in anatomy, to leave things be and enjoy the unique experience of being a woman with a penis.

Nobody should have to endure surgery in order to have their own identity...

Women, if you were born with them, enjoy your cock & balls!
