2011 JUB Meet - Portland, Oregon - August 5-7

The amount to set aside depends on the number of days you'll be there, of course, and what you mean by "trinkets." Of course one meal will be gratis (Friday evening's - which I have committed to helping with, actually), but an unknown variable will be the possible clubbing/drinks which can get expensive.

Your transportation costs will be negligible, though, once you're in PDX. Transit will get us about anywhere we want to go.

It;'s great to see that your chances are still pretty good...but GamerBear "counterbalanced" that by giving us some very sad news indeed. As suggested, maybe a scheduling trade can be made??
 
For the weekend we've planned, omminc, $150 would be way more than enough.

The plan for the Friday event is that those who can afford to pay will be treating those who can't. A handful of us have decided to cover costs, behind the scenes, so there won't be any expense involved there. BYOB would be welcomed, of course. :-)

Brunch at Crush is in the $10 -$20 range, unless you order more than one alcoholic beverage...

Sunday evening at Siverado is a HUGE bargain.

No cover.

$1.00 domestic beers on tap. $1.50 premium. Tipping the strippers is optional.

On our walking tour we'll be passing many of Portland's famous food carts, where you can get a great meal in the $5.00 plus or minus range. We'll walk by several amazing pizza places as well.

Depending on weather, and the mood of the attendees, a pot-luck picnic is a possibility for Sunday afternoon. This would be a bargain as well.
 
Ahhh, thanks! I was mostly thinking about food and possibly things that interest my eye.

Also, this will sound funny coming from someone who lives in WI/MN, but I don't drink, so I automatically will be saving there no matter what. Clubbing will also be an iffy as I don't like clubs, but will try one out.

Just to be on the safe side, I'll set aside 200 on one of my cards to use. But how much should I set aside in cash? I can't stand using cash, but can set a side some bills for the trip.
 
omminc, since you don't drink, I think your expenses here wouldn't have to be much more than a fun weekend at home.

But if there are any bobbles that interest you, remember there's no sales tax on ANYTHING you buy in Oregon.

Wow that's totally awesome of you guys. Also the weekend really doesn't sound too expensive otherwise. You'd never get away this cheap here. Good planning!

It allows for BRUCH with all of us -- and LATE NIGHT FUN!!! (!)

I've only had one BRIEF breakfast meet-up with Antdak -- and I've NEVER met you -- so I CERTAINLY HOPE that you'll BOTH be there -- even if for limited events...

I'm up here in Rice Lake, WI (just north of Eau Claire) -- and I've been INFORMED by the LOCALS that it ISN'T just FUNNY -- it is ILLEGAL!!! :rotflmao:

It's a possibility … I may be out of town that weekend. Also, I'm quite shy so I'll have to wait and see.
 
Talked to Tony more and it seems that the only night that we might be able to make it is Friday night at Daniel's apartment. So might still be a chance, I guess at this point it might be 60/40 chance of coming on Friday.

Think budgetarily the chances have gone from 25% yes to 85% yes,know for sure in a week or two.I will get back to you guys and let you know for sure in about two weeks.

The rooftop of Nineofclubs apartment overlooks the ENTIRE city and is AWESOME!!!
