Kate Bush releases “Director’s Cut” – A new album which sees her re-visit a selection of tracks from two of her classic albums.

London, 11 March 2011 - Kate Bush releases an unusual new album “Director’s Cut” on May 16 on her own label Fish People, in conjunction with EMI. On “Directors Cut” Kate revisits a selection of tracks from her albums “The Sensual World” and “The Red Shoes”, a process that presents a fascinating portrait of an artist in a constant state of evolution. She has re-recorded some elements whilst keeping the best musical performances of each song – making it something of a director’s cut but in sound, not vision. A new version of “Deeper Understanding” will be released as a single in April. Although written some twenty years ago, the song may be more relevant today than ever… Kate is currently working on new material although no release date has been set for this. “Director’s Cut” will be released in the following formats: Digital Album, Standard CD in a case-bound book, Deluxe CD (three disc package, including Director’s Cut, The Sensual World and re-mastered The Red Shoes) in a case-bound book and two-disc vinyl. Other digital and vinyl formats will be made available on katebush.com. Details will be published shortly.

Ladytron - Gravity the Seducer

thanks, forgot about this:D

On September 13 in the U.S. and a day earlier in the UK, synthpop veterans Ladytron will release their new album Gravity the Seducer, the follow-up to 2008's Velocifero, via Nettwerk. The group recorded the album in the English countryside, with Arctic Monkeys/Editors collaborator Barny Barnicott co-producing.

In a press release, Ladytron's Daniel Hunt says, "Gravity the Seducer is more of a jump than the last album was, more ethereal and melodic, a touch more abstract in places than we've gone before, baroque 'n' roll. It was a pleasure to make, took us right through last summer. It's our best record, in my opinion."

Over the next few months, the group has a few shows planned in Europe and Asia. Group member Mira Aroyo will also do a few North American DJ dates.

Beastie Boys much awaited new single, “Make Some News” is set to release April 12th. The Single is the first from their reworked and retitled eighth LP Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2, which is due for release May 3rd.

In anticipation of the Beastie Boys new single ‘Make Some Noise’ from their eighth album ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part Two’ comes the ‘Fight For Your Right Revisited’ Trailer. This is the trailer for a 30 minute epic, recreating the original ‘Fight For Your Right’ music video. The film is pretty much a whos who of hollywood, starring Jack Black, Seth Rogan, Danny McBridge, John C. Reilly, Elijah Wood and Will Ferrell to name a few.

Bernard Fevre, AKA Black Devil Disco Club, will release a new full-length this April called Circus.

As those familiar with the French producer will already know, Fevre's career has been anything but conventional. His debut album Disco Club came out in 1978, and though many hail it as an early electronic classic, it remained in obscurity until 2004 when Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert reissued four of its tracks it on Rephlex. Fevre's been back in the spotlight ever since, with two mini-albums and a pair of compilations through UK label Lo Recordings, who are also releasing Circus.

The forthcoming album pack in ten new tracks from Fevre, all of which feature guest vocalists, including high profile names like Nancy Sinatra, Jon Spencer (of Blues Explosion fame) and Afrika Bambaataa, plus Claire Evans of YACHT and recent Lo Recordings addition Michael Lovett.

Tracklist
01. Fuzzy Dream feat. Jon Spencer
02. Pavement Opposite feat. Nancy Fortune
03. X Paradise feat. Cosmetics
04. Distrust feat. Faris Badwan
05. Stay Insane feat. YACHT
06. To Ardent feat. Nancy Sinatra
07. In Doubt feat. CockNBullKid
08. My Screen feat. Nicholas Ker of Poni Hoax
09. She Flees The Silence feat. Michael Lovett
10. Magnetic Devil feat. Afrika Bambaataa

Lo Recordings will release Circus on April 11th, 2011.

tUnE-yArDs - w h o k i l l

w h o k i l l, the sophomore album by Merrill Garbus’ tUnE-yArDs will thrill fans of the live show that left most stunned in 2010. No longer is Garbus’ artful songwriting and soulful voice obscured by digital fuzz as it often was in her solo debut, BiRd-BrAiNs. As Merrill transplanted herself and her belongings from Montreal to sunny Oakland, California, touring almost non-stop for over two years, tUnE-yArDs stripped away to a more precise, more concentrated, more vivid sound. On w h o k i l l, the honesty of the lonely bedroom confessional remains, but has grown the fangs and claws and dented metal of its new surroundings.
Garbus has applied the tUnE-yArDs live approach to her studio work for the first time in w h o k i l l. Her tools have not changed. Rather, she’s added more buttons and joints to those already being used (one essential new joint is dexterous bass member Nate Brenner, who co-wrote a few songs.) The opportunities exploited are evident in w h o k i l l’s dynamic range as it matches Garbus’ creative strides. There’s no substitute for a good microphone, and the sonic nuances that can only be achieved through masterful recording techniques—producer Garbus and engineer Eli Crews are to be thanked—can be heard in each drumbeat and vocal line. So here we have it. A remarkable record, from a creative force so strong and focused, w h o k i l l practically jumps out of its shoes.

Micachu & The Shapes and the London Sinfonietta - Chopped and Screwed

Chopped & Screwed is the collaboration between London based musician Mica Levi aka Micachu and the London Sinfonietta Orchestra. Following critical acclaim for Micachu and the Shapes’s debut album Jewellery, the collaboration came about as the Sinfonietta had picked up on the fact that Mica is a trained classical composer who was interested in experimenting with new forms, and was someone whose ideas would meld well with the avant-garde philosophy of the Sinfonietta itself. The sound blends the organic, the digital and the analogue with instruments such as homemade guitars and a vacuum cleaner.

The concert took place at King’s Place on May 10, 2010 a recently built and specially designed venue, treated to showcase the best in classical and acoustic music in London.
