Late Night Tales - Trentemøller

RELEASE DATE OF 30TH MAY 2011

Trentemøller is the Dane who did. He’s been making electronic music of one kind of bent or another for over 15 years, first making his name as part of Trigbag, a live house act that toured extensively. But it’s his solo material that has impacted on the dance community – and beyond. ‘La Champagne’ was a game-changer and his remixes of artists like Sharon Phillips secured his place as an artist with some serious chops. But that’s not all he is. You can hear that yearning in his productions and it’s evident here, a sort of Protestant northern European melancholy.

He is aided on his journey towards the Baltic by some heavy hitters, of course: Velvet Underground, Mazzy Star, This Mortal Coil. But that’s not the story, it’s not where the plot comes from, it’s not where we’re going. It’s just a little indicator to reassure you we know the way. No. For it’s in the dark beauty of Low’s tremulous ‘Amazing Grace’ or even the way that the Shangri-Las’ ‘(Remember) Walkin’ In The Sand’, surrounded by the similarly inclined, takes on a funereal gait. As we navigate the flatlands of your mind, we’re helped along by a generous sprinkling of Anders’ fellow Danes, like Darkness Falls (the atmosphere of this mix aptly encapsulated right there), Ekko, Chimes & Bells and the Late Night Tales tradition, Trentemøller’s cover of Chris Isaacs’ ‘Blue Hotel’, sung by Marie Fisker and Steen Jørgensen.

The "Wav Deluxe" format contains not only the mix in full 44.1khz with track id points, but also each individual track in full unmixed and uncompressed quality.

Evanescence? I thought they are already over or too busy with solo projects ...

I´m interested what will J.Lo bring this time. I am happy for her "On The Floor" comeback, but I think she had better songs ...

I am interested if Kelly Rowland will continue in her "I love dance so much" way or she turns back to rnb after success Motivation ... Her colaboration with Alex Gaudino is the best she ever put vocals to !

Hm, hopefully Beyonce will bring something better then IASF this time ...

Tori Amos Announces The Release Of A New Album Titled ‘Night Of Hunters’

Tori Amos marks her debut album for Deutshe Grammophon, the world’s most celebrated classical music record label with Night of Hunters, set for release this September. The iconic, platinum-selling singer-songwriter continues her legacy of ground-breaking recordings with this 21st century song cycle inspired by select classical pieces spanning the last 400 years. With Night of Hunters, Amos carries on the classical tradition of variations on a theme: taking inspiration from classical forms to create a bold new work while paying tribute to the mastery of the original compositions. On Night of Hunters, which she wrote and produced, Amos comments:

“It’s a 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years. I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

The release of Night of Hunters will be supported by a tour in Europe and the U.S. starting in Helsinki, Finland on September 28th. With more than 12 million albums sold and multiple Grammy nominations, Tori Amos is one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation. A pioneer across multiple platforms, she was the first major label artist to offer a single for download, has had her songs turned into graphic novels, and has produced pioneering videos throughout her career. She is renowned for her passionate and broad fan-base, her critically and commercially successful tours, and her ever evolving live show. Ms. Amos is also a noted humanitarian and co-founder of RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), which is the United States’ largest anti-sexual assault organization.

London's The Horrors announced that they will be releasing third album 'Skying' July 11th in the UK and July 26th in the U.S. on XL Recordings. It was produced and recorded by the band in their self built studio in Dalston, London. Excited to hear what direction they might be going in. I really dug their 2009 album 'Primary Colours' which was a bit of a departure for them. They are streaming a track from the new record "Still Life" that is pretty sweet! Slow and dark with a post punk 80's new wave feel to it. In other words brilliant! Definitely a top album I'm looking forward to hearing this year.

Skying Tracklisting:

1. Changing the Rain
2. You Said
3. I Can See Through You
4. Endless Blue
5. Dive In
6. Still Life
7. Wild Eyed
