2013 Massachusetts Special Election

Stop being vituperative ;)

And Cape Cod is my second home and my fav place on earth

I'm in Providence today

I doubt that whoever gets elected will have any impact on your second home in Cape Cod, somehow.

QFT!

But don't tell him that, I'm sure once he realizes that truth it will be worse than the bursting of the American Housing Bubble. ;)

Ego over and superiority over finances my Dear.

Confidence is sexier than a hot bod and a nice package at some point, cut him some slack!

But you're a Canadian who prefers fresh creamed butter over real creamed cheese, so this Texas Boy will have to do with with living under Republican Rick Perry as Governor, and the Tea Party Corporate Hacks fucking the shit out of the Republican Controlled Texas Legislature while the two of you fight over reservations at the less than Tony eating establishments in Manhattan.

;)

The funny part is, the Cape is one of the liberal bastions of MA. You could put a dead guy on the ballot and if his name had a '-D' attached, they would vote for him. It's the main reason I can't stand many of the brain-dead "progressives" and why I pray Markey doesn't get the nomination because that is the last thing MA needs. Republicans have a similar problem too and it's why I went independent or as my state calls it "unenrolled". The area between the 495 and 95 belts is the most conservative [and wealthiest] part of MA where you get a lot of blue dog democrats and libertarians [where I come from]. That area is what delivers Republicans wins in the state if you look at any election map.

Some tards gave me flak for voting for Lizzie Warren but talk about standing up to government corruption...

Well HEY!

Here in Texas they were/are called YELLOW DOG DEMOCRATS.

Sadly all that they seem to do is to vote Democrat, and are never vocal or free with campaign contributions when it really matters.

As a Texan I'm already embarrassed that our new Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz is beginning to make headlines, both in the news and on the Daily Show.

The local major media markets; Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio Editorial Boards paid more attention to his stupid ass headline making comments than his positions, while ignoring any real opposition presented by an experienced legislator with a D associated with his name, and here we are in the U.S. Senate.

Even AFTER the editorial boards recognized their mistake; after the Texas GOP Primaries, and BEFORE the Texas State Wide Senatorial Election when they all endorsed Ted Cruz's challanger Democrat Paul Sadler, it was too late.

Some tards gave me flak for voting for Lizzie Warren but talk about standing up to government corruption...

Get some sleep tonight knowing that you made the right vote.

What American Politician who wants to get elected to the United States Senate talks like that and expects to get elected???

Certainly not in the third most populated state in the Union (Texas)!

So be proud of your choice.

I am. :)

If you want me to be candid about my "business education" I received from one of the more conservative schools in MA...

It was embedded into our minds that if the NPV is greater than 0 to settle than to be litigated, including intangibles, that you should settle. I agree with this statement on a numbers basis but on a moral basis, I find it disdainful.

I personally think that "our leadership" in Washington don't want to bite the hands that feed them.

So law and jurisprudence, and what is being "taught" in the halls of our Nation's Colleges are about as inane as the concept of "Liberty and Justice for All."

*waits for the Greatest Nation brigade to march in and tell me to leave America*

Let me remind you that the "cheating scandal" at Harvard was for the class "Intro to Congress".

I will admit that for some shitty Microsoft Excel class at my college, that we would cheat off of one Indian woman's scantron for the weekly homework assignment. Thank God that the professor was a complete dunce who was ESOL. About 30/35 us got an 81 [21/26] on one of the HW assignments and the teacher thought nothing of it.

Ironically, my class' book was "The Cheating Culture".

I assume NPV stands for Net Present Value?

Some lawsuits are undertaken to set a precedent and therefore represent a value that may not be readily quantifiable with respect to a currently pending dispute.

I am also curious to understand how this relates to the Massachusetts Special Election?

Your honesty, and perspective Sir is refreshing. :luv:

Alcohol is a truth serum like sodium thiopental.

Why scantrons are still implemented as "take homes" is the own professor's stupidity.

It's true!

My Best Girlfriend here in Dallas sometimes slings drinks at any number of Gay Friendly Dallas bars.

She calls this:

th

Truth Serum.

Her straight girlfriends will bring their "metro-sexual" boyfriends out to whichever bar that she's slinging drinks, and she'll serve them Patron Tequila...on the house.

Then she'll reach under the bar and crank up Madonna, Britney Spears, or Lady Gaga, and the first boy who's hands shoot above his shoulders and starts shaking his ass, is not "straight marriage material."

So as a little update on my own thoughts on this election despite the SC house special election getting more national attention but a Senate seat is far more valuable.

I drove home yesterday to drop something off and I started to see political signs popping up in suburbia. All those signs were for Stephen Lynch [mind you, my hometown and many towns around that went for Scott brown in 2012]. At least in the last debate that occurred between Markey and Lynch, Markey got trounced on. Party shills tend not to do well in MA on the state level. The polling numbers are biased at best. There is a lot of vitriol in MA towards the Democratic establishment for backing Markey before Kerry's seat became vacant. I know many republican-leaning people plan on voting for Lynch in the primary as he at least is a blue-dog Democrat and not a "neo-liberal".

Tomorrow is the primary for the Senate election and the Democratic primary is really gonna be a tossup since it is "open", meaning Republicans can vote for Democrats and vice versa. I know a lot of Republicans plan on polling for Lynch because he is better than Markey and a Republican has pretty much no chance of winning.

Normally special elections, especially for senate get more media coverage but they still want to fawn over terrorism.

If Gabriel Gomez wins the Republican primary, there is a very good chance he could win the Senate Race. He says he's for gay marriage so that's a plus but who knows if he would be the same if elected?

There is a lot of animosity towards Markey that is very palpable in MA. Take for example the campaign blunder the Markey campaign said that: "they had no need for campaign signs".

I plan on voting for Lynch tomorrow but if it comes down to Markey vs a republican in the main election, I simply cannot support Markey. He is the male Martha Coakley.

Indeed, that is true from what I've heard. Gomez appears to be a moderate so I could live with him getting elected,of course that could change once he's in there but like Martha Coakley,I have a feeling Dems will learn you can't just throw any Democrat in there and expect they will vote for them, just like Republicans learned with Angle,Buck,O'Donnell,Akin and Mourdock.
