Holland America has 2 cruise ships off the coast of Florida that has passengers with flu-like symptoms. It's still unclear whether they'll be allowed to disembark.

^ Canada is taking our citizens off and bringing them home.

But I think they are going to make everyone else stay on board.

Question:
Are tall buildings such as apartment and hotel use the same air or the air are connected to all the rooms?
If so, the virus can stay in the air up to 3 hours? Thats a major crisis correct ?

I am worried about air in the elevators and the buttons for and in the elevators too

If they use the same air, are there any virus air filters in each room ?
Especially in hospitals full of virus victims.

covid19 Symptoms:
Do you must have more than 1 symptoms or just 1 symptom if you are infected?

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-02/coronavirus-symptoms-fever-fatigue-common-cold-flu/12084450
Diagnosis is not made based upon symptoms. Diagnosis is made either by a positive nasal/throat smear or by radiographic study of the lungs.

Older buildings that do not circulate fresh air do pose a risk, as are older buildings with defective plumbing. According to Chinese reports, both circumstances did happen in China, however these are not the primary means that account for the majority of infections. Most infections are via respiratory exchange under crowded conditions.

Hospital rooms, when set up correctly, use negative pressure where air is pulled into the room and vented out.

A landmark- the number of worldwide confirmed cases has exceeded 1,000,000. It is now 1,002,159. Eight hours ago, it was 962,977.

Because the US is not doing mass testing, it's believed that the actual number is much, much higher.

Watching The Five on Fox right now. Boy have they changed their tune after spending weeks laughing at those who were concerned about coronavirus. They have blood on their hands contributing to the spread through their dismissive coverage.

NZ still on lockdown but have yet to experience the kind of scale of other countries. 1 death here so far.

Watching The Five on Fox right now. Boy have they changed their tune after spending weeks laughing at those who were concerned about coronavirus. They have blood on their hands contributing to the spread through their dismissive coverage.

FOX is apparently shitting their pants over the possibility of a class action lawsuit for knowingly delivering false information that may have led to the spread of COVID and even deaths.

So yeah. Now their focus will be on shifting the blame for all of that to other sources.

As you probably saw, the House created a special committee on Coronavirus, so expect that there's going to be a deflection and distraction feedback loop because Fox was complicit in trying to push the "hoax" narrative (which is where this thread originally started... and look where we are now, 51,000 deaths later).

One of the other truths in North America that may be overlooked. The poor once again, have not had the same opportunity to shelter from this virus as the wealthier people.

Tracking the reduction in travel, the results are shockingly clear. The poor kept travelling longer....largely because they represent the workers who have had to keep turning up to their jobs while the middle and upper class have been able to work from home or even just goof off.

^ Indeed: in the BCN urban area some of the poorest, most densely populated areas (not just in Spain, but in the whole of Europe and even the world), packed with immigrants or so-called "minorities", have equivalent or even lower infection ratios than the wealthiest areas, while it's the poorer working class living to the east, who relied more heavily on commuting to earn a living, who have been hit more severely than those who could either work from home, or who lived in practically ghetto-like neighborhoods, with business owners and costumers being relatively enclosed in their habitational quarters.

During evening rush hour, we always avoided the 4/5/6 trains that went from the lower east side up to the Bronx. It usually had the oldest of the train cars that were poorly ventilated. The train was packed with blue collar workers- people who actually worked for a living- and it was like sardines because there were too many people and too few trains. Perfect environment for a respiratory virus to get passed to a lot of people block by block, station by station.

If you look at the caseload in NYC, it's disproportionately shifted toward Queens and Brooklyn- the bridge and tunnel commuters- and the places were there are shopping centers and other places were people gather in large groups.

Re: Who's afraid of Coronavirus?

the more i look,
the more i see masks are good for flu prevention:

My conclusion,
masks save lives ... it doesn't matter what type of mask for the public, just wear it !!!

I see that the US managed to rack up another 1321 deaths yesterday. And 32, 284 new cases.

This is very sad.

Canada recorded another 1092 cases and 35 deaths. Also very sad.

And all the other hard hit countries still continue to add far too many new cases and experience too many deaths at a point where one would have thought that strict separation and quarantine measures would be showing results.

To all of the front line medical workers on JUB. Please stay safe.
