  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

A very sad day in America....

omg

It is all demographics.

I am the generation that made Hostess and now have stuck a twinkie up their Ho Ho and a Hickory Stick stake through their heart.

It is like Kodak.

The end of an era.

Twinkies, yummmmm!!

meh...

Twinkies and Ding Dongs I can live without... (HUSH all of you ! )

But "Wonder Bread".... Well, I gotta admit it's a childhood love that never went away....

A little tuna salad, some lettuce and tomato... And I'm a happy camper.

Hell, just slap some Nutella and banana slices on two pieces and I go to bed happy.

I can't be the only one.

Yes, today's high fiber, five whole grain bread that makes you drop a log Paul Bunyan would be proud of is much better for you, (I swear, I expect a blue ox to come charging through my bathroom with every movement) But. There's something just "special" about Wonder Bread.

It's the stuff we grew up on.

It's the stuff of rainy afternoon sick days and marshmallow fluff.

The stuff of bologna sandwiches and watching "The Price is Right" with your Grandmother over Christmas vacations, bathed in the illusion that everything was going to be alright.

It is the very definition of "comfort food".

It's not going anywhere.

Hostess....the company that makes delicious cream filled Twinkies,is filing bankruptcy.....

Please....a moment of silence.....:(

Good riddance...

Twinkies: an amalgamation of partially hydrogenated fat full of transaturated fats, sucrose, white flour, artificial colors derived from charcoal and petroleum and benzoates as preservatives. The American food industry has done immense damage to the World. Seriously, the American diet is abysmal!

Wonder Bread/Hostess will be around I think.
Filing bankruptcy doesn't mean the end. It will likely mean that all union contracts are subject to be redone or cancelled.
This would also be the case for longer term contracts with suppliers they have such as flour, bulk transport, etc.
As per usual they claim labor & supply cost are forcing them into oblivion.
Hostess brand has (a history of) been a quality employer, good - decent gig to work for with a liveable income & benefits for its employees.
The market for its product is changing & rather truth or not a good excuse as any to reorganize or even belly up. Even if it does fade in name, it Hostess would be back in a new slick corporate form after cleaning its staff and debt to start over.

no offense but this thread sounds like something a fat person would say. bet you this person wouldn't have made this thread if gold's gym or jenny craig filed for bankruptcy.

What the frig is a Twinkie?

A cream-filled sponge finger that contains several thousand calories but no ingredients that a human being can pronounce. Scientists have yet to determine whether or not they count as "food".

Also: a useful indicator of the current level of paranormal activity in New York City.

So if a twinkie is a smooth young blonde (golden cake) filled with delicious cream then what is a Ho Ho?
