Abba: Love Them? Hate Them?

"Will you do Abba for me?"
"You know about the Abba show?"
"Mum told me."

"You have an Abba turd?!"

What's not to love? Loved them forever and that love was cemented by the movie "The Adventures of Priscilla -Queen of the Desert"

mikey

i love 'em!

dancing queen makes me want to spin and turn into wonder woman!

:gogirl:

All I saw was the title of the thread...

and YES!!!! didn't read anything else...

Would you say "Priscilla - Queen of the Desert" awoke many younger fans to their music? What year was that movie - 1992?

If you love Abba, you have to see the film Muriel's Wedding...an absolute must. As for favorites, gotta go with SOS, Waterloo and On And On And On.

I still like ABBA to this day. I have the box set that came out.
There was a group a few years ago called A*Teens that did cover versions of
ABBA music and they did really good

ABBA is one of the most underrated groups ever!

My favorite song is OUR LAST SUMMER.

"The summer air was soft and warm
The feeling right, the paris night
Did its best to please us
And strolling down the elyse
We had a drink in each caf
And you
You talked of politics, philosophy and i
Smiled like mona lisa
We had our chance
It was a fine and true romance

I can still recall our last summer
I still see it all
Walks along the seine, laughing in the rain
Our last summer
Memories that remain

We made our way along the river
And we sat down in the grass
By the eiffel tower
I was so happy we had met
It was the age of no regret
Oh yes
Those crazy years, that was the time
Of the flower-power
But underneath we had a fear of flying
Of getting old, a fear of slowly dying
We took the chance
Like we were dancing our last dance

I can still recall our last summer
I still see it all
In the tourist jam, round the notre dame
Our last summer
Walking hand in hand

Paris restaurants
Our last summer
Morning croissants
Living for the day, worries far away
Our last summer
We could laugh and play

And now youre working in a bank
The family man, the football fan
And your name is harry
How dull it seems
Yet youre the hero of my dreams

I can still recall our last summer
I still see it all
Walks along the seine, laughing in the rain
Our last summer
Memories that remain
I can still recall our last summer
I still see it all
In the tourist jam, round the notre dame
Our last summer
Walking hand in hand
Paris restaurants
Our last summer
Morning croissants
Living for the day, worries far away"

They are not underrated.

But they still have the 'i am ashamed to admit i like them' factor...i think. Maybe it has something to do with them winning Eurovision...as that is seen as 'cheesy'

I don't like how the record company is flogging everything they have ever done to death.

GREATEST HITS VOLUME 1388SDH1 OMGZ!!1!1!

But yes, i like some of their stuff

Love 'em. "The Visitors" extended remix was a big thing in the first gay bar I ever went to, spring 1982

I finally saw Mamma Mia last week on my vacation and loved it. The curtain call
was as exciting as any I've ever seen with the entire crowd on their feet,
dancing and singing along. I've always thought their tunes were great fun.

I thought the musical was a bit contrived, but the curtian call was amazing!
