I was giving the benefit of the doubt that a white person put respect for minorities over profit. Welp, too bad so sad bye Roseanne, I have sympathy though for the cast and crew that are now out of a job cuz of her loud mouth, especially DJ cuz the rest of the cast had still been working in the industry prior to this show.

she was funny and her original stand up doing jokes about being a poor housewife with kids she hated was funny--not to mention growing up Jewish in Mormon Utah--the original show was groundbreaking on many levels---dealing with issues in a realistic blue collar way like All in the Family did ---but she has always been mentally unstable---she's gone totally off the deep end as she has gotten older---conspiracy theories Alex Jones the whole trump world---and she was what you would consider a liberal in the beginning.

I seem to remember she actually said she was a proud socialist back then. She was fantastic with LGBT issues back in her old show, too... obviously though the personal racism was likely always there and the increasingly strident populist and cultural stands have exacerbated to batshit crazy... totally repugnant.

This is the part that bothered me all afternoon after learning about it, why didn't she think twice before actually posting....god knows there's many, many posts that i've deleted after thinking twice about it. oh well, she sucks, I guess she just has the "me, me, me" mentality.

She ran for President as a Green in 2012, IIRC. But her tweets during that time (I briefly followed her) were so discombobulated that it was hard to tell what she really believed. It seems to me that her platform was more about being provocative than about doing anything productive.

Roseanne was always little more than a contrarian. She masqueraded as a crusader when she merely liked giving Middle America the finger. Finally, she gave the wrong subgroup the "fuck you" and it all blew up.

As for those on the train to hell with her, they were happy enough to ride her coattails in the "good times." If they have talent, they will find work. If not, it was tripe.

The fact that Roseanne was ABC's number one rated show demonstrates just how low their programming is. It's not like it got there overnight. They were so bad four decades ago that I stopped watching them when there really wasn't much on cable. At least NBC had some standards, and CBS had class. ABC has chased after the uneducated class as hard as they could, and now they are hoisted on their own petard.
