Just in the past couple weeks, one pastor loudly proclaimed that parents should "crack the wrists" of effeminate (& presumably gay) boys. Another pastor said that he thinks that gays & lesbians should be trapped behind electric fences.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse......

News outlets from CNN to the Huffington Post to TMZ are reporting that 4-year old boys at Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Greensburg, Indiana sang the following song in church --

""The Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong.
The Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong.
Romans one, twenty six and twenty seven;
Ain’t no homos gonna make it to Heaven
."

When the 4-year old boys sang the phrase "Ain't no homos gonna make it to Heaven," the pastor & entire church audience erupted, laughing in applause and cheering the boys on. One man could even be heard yelling, "That's my boy!!"

What's interesting is that Greensburg, Indiana is the same town where Billy Lucas lived. Billy Lucas was a gay teenager who was subjected to a lot of anti-gay bullying in school. He committed suicide in September 2010.

Here is the video (caution -- it is disturbing)

In this case, I actually feel like those 4-year old boys are the victims here.

4-year old children don't understand what "homo", "heaven", or "gay" mean. 4-year old children believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus. Most children don't even completely understand what "death" means until they're about 7 to 8 years old.

4-year old children don't naturally hate anyone. They're taught to hate by other people.

In this case, those 4-year old boys are obviously regurgitating or repeating a "song" they were taught by their parents or someone at that church.

But this is where the seeds of hatred against gay people are planted. When those boys are older and in school, they'll probably think it's okay to bully other boys who appear like they may be gay. After all, to them, "homos" aren't going to "heaven" anyway, right??

Or if any of those boys do grow up and realize they are themselves gay, they will be filled to the brim with self-loathing and self-hatred.

Vile and repugnant....teaching hatred to children so young. Shouldn't that be considered child abuse?

If man is five
Then the devil is six
Then God is seven
...this monkey's gone to heaven.

Jesus had a few choice words for people like that who considered themselves so righteous. As I recall, he said they were going to hell.

He also said to let the little children come to Him -- not to Hate Camp.

I wouldn't want to go to heaven in the company of people like that.

Oh dear....I'm not going to heaven...what else is new?

*grasps pearls*

(From the article)

We believe the Holy Bible is the Divinely-inspired Word of God and we will continue to uphold and preach that which is found in scripture.

Except for the bits which warn them not to do the very things they do. They seem to be very selective in their beliefs.

Don't worry. Their elevator will be going down.

The Accepting Schools Act, known as Bill 13, passed third and final reading on Tuesday with a vote of 65 to 36. It was the first bill to pass since the Liberals won a minority in last October’s provincial election. The New Democratic Party supported the bill and all 36 Progressive Conservative MPPs voted against it.

Is anyone besides me not surprised by this?

Let's hope it starts a nation-wide trend like the same-sex marriage trend a few years ago.

Yeah, like these people know who goes to heaven and who doesn't.
Excuse me but have they ever been?
It's ironic how people who believe in a religion which preaches to love your next, among other stuff, can be so full of hate for an entire group of people.

Oops. I knew about this a week ago. Should have posted it. Thinking about getting a bunch of gays together to go to the church.

I do sometimes wonder if this is like some Christian trap and they are failing. Not judging and all. And a trap for us not to fall away from our beliefs. Like Job.

In other news the government of Ontario passed their anti-bullying legislation which allows any Gay Straight Alliance, even in the Catholic schools, to call itself a Gay Straight Alliance.

What a difference.

I love the guy who said students aren't in charge of the school. Well, this doesn't put them in charge, but it does leave them a little bit of exercise in decision-making by voting -- and that helps educate them toward being future voting citizens... and isn't education what a school is for?
