Al-Qaida has rebuilt...

you show your absolute lack of understanding of what really happened at abu graib and what STILL happens at Gitmo

dont think i will fall for that nonsense

mark my words.... once bush is out of power one of the european nations will bring charges of war crimes against him

by the precedence he set by backing the trial of saddam hussein he will be defenseless

Those investigations have been underway by Spain since late 2005:

Spain probes 'secret CIA flights'

and according to Znet there's a movement afoot to do just that:

War Crimes

Like I stated in another post, instead his Chapel Hill Ranch in Crawford, Texas perhaps Bush should consider a country that doesn't have any extradition treaties with any EU countries.

Your President and our PM picked the wrong country to fight.

that is something ive been saying here for three years now and finally the truth is coming out

how many lives ... both american and iraqi have been lost to find out what the people of the mid east knew from the beggining?

hundreds of thousands of lives for nothing but a grudge that bush lied to cover

and once a democratic presidency is elected in america there will be no way that all these documents he is hiding will be kept secret

bush and everyone that supported him will replace benedict arnold in american lore for what it means to betray american values

Actually.Clinton was the one who actually knew where Bin ladin was on more than one occasion and decided not to act on it. Sudan relayed that he was in their country. I am not a Republican, not a Bush fan either. But i'll be damned if i'm going to be a Clinton apologist goosestepper.

When you refer to Clinton almost got bin ladin, you're referring to thefact that he almost accidently got him during the wag the dog antics during the idiotic sex scandal.

and would you happen to have any documentation for this claim?

i have provided documentation that he DID make the atack in the Sudan... what do you have to show that this is untrue?

anything?

a link?

a name of an organisation that said this, perhaps?

this is not about apologizing for clinton when he is the only one that to this date has come close to actually killing osama

your post was an attempt to apologize for Bush's failures by saying that he cant be so bad if someone else was worse

well guess what

Bush is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to getting his "wanted dead or alive" osama....

he isnt even on the radar anymore because bush is fighting a war that didnt need to be fought

i just dont understand how people can lie and try to change the events of the world to fit a political agenda

it feels....

icky and dirty

Gee that's a pretty disingenuous statement, and a distortion of facts, if I've ever read one.

See my problem with Democrats is that they always "play nice" all of the time.

Speaker of the House Tom DeLay wanted to impeach Clinton because HE wanted a different President. As I understand the facts of the time, Clinton didn't act on capturing Bin Laden, or killing him for the very reasons that you're accusing him of here; "wagging the dog."

To even bring up the topic suggests that either you've been drinking the kool-aid yourself, or you're late 20th Century American history is a little fuzzy, or biased.

The way that I understand American history, especially the last twenty years of the 20th Century, is that Presidents Ronald Reagan, and Bush41 armed Osama Bin Laden covertly, in an attempt to help him beat the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

Clinton saw that Bin Laden was turning against American interests, but there was this issue about a blue dress that the GOP was fixated on at the time.

Then there's the Taliban, who given an offer of being "carpeted with gold, or carpeted with bombs," apparently chose the bomb route, when G.W. Bush couldn't persuade the Taliban controlled Afghan government to negotiate for oil/gas/pipleline and/or the release of Osama Bin Laden.

The Saudi Arabian based Bin Laden family has close ties to the Connecticut Bush family for years.

What was Bush41 doing when he wasn't a Congressman from Houston, Texas or VPOTUS of the United States? Among other things he was the former director of the CIA.

You know what they say about CIA don't you? Once CIA always CIA. That's where the intel is! ..|

What better way to make use of it, than being a politician within the GOP?

But HELL let's BLAME the Democrats. After all they've only held the White House FOUR times; Kennedy, LBJ, Carter, and Clinton, during the past 50 years! :gogirl:

While the Republicans have held that office SIX times; Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush41, and Bush43.

I think I'm getting where you're coming from!

Alfie Grow up and become a man. Yor childish ranting is amusing but it becomes rather boring when you pontificate as a child would on thread after thread. Ill repeat it. I am not a Bush fan,i just don't swallow the Clinton kool-aid so many on the left do. And i must say it's funny how you always claim to be so anti-war. Are you actually convinced that wars,as terrible as they are,are never necessary?Or is it just convenient for you during a GOP presidency?Should we not have been in Germany during WW2?after all Japan, not Germany attacked us on our soil. Yes,Bush has made many mistakes but my good man man ,so did Clinton.

Oh, I get so tired of this. War is very necessary when a rogue country is fighting a war of aggression against other nations. Like Germany in World war II (you know, our allies: France, England, etc?). Japan in WW II, heck, even Iraq in Gulf I (Remember Kuwait?). Iraq was not fighting a war of aggression against any other nation this time. The US is fighting the war of aggression. This war isn't justified. Sheesh, I get tired of explaining this (not just here at JUB, but to Bush apologists in general).

I wish we had an impartial referee to score posters on the effectiveness of their argument and debating skills. At this point Koontzfanwv, you would be on your 3rd standing 8 count.

Give it up son ..... this fight is over!

what i find most amusing in this thread is that when the bush apologists/republicans were confronted wit the truth and their lies were exposed they just either left and didnt respond or they just pretended like the documentation proving their dishonesty wasnt posted right beside their posts.

its a habit they seem to have picked up from their liar in chief, the shrub

comparing bush and his dishonest wars of preemtion to the greatest generation and their sacrifice is the heigth of hypocrysy

gimme a break

Hitler had taken most of europe before we got involved and japan had attacked us. What part of that compares to iraq?

heres the issue that republicans dont seem to have the morals to grasp....

War is not something lighty engaged in and NEVER for preemptive reasons. Diplmacy is done with words, not a gun.

while its honorable to die for someones freedom it is never honorable to kill to promote yourself.

Are we clear yet, honey bun?

Letme, since when is bin Laden a head of state?
He's a gang leader.
When the US (and our allies) won the wars you mentioned, it was time for diplomatic negotiations for a peace process. You can't have diplomatic negotiations with a gang of thugs who don't comply with international conventions. They kill innocent civilians. They kill them in North America, in Europe, in Africa, in Asia and in other Moslem countries.
If Hitler hadn't committed suicide he undoubtedly would have been on trial in Nuremburg also for his crimes against humanity, not because he was a head of state.
Hirohito ultimately dissolved "the Empire of Japan" and his alleged divinity. That was adequate, we didn't want or need his head on a stake.
Terrorists are quite a different issue. They didn't sign the Geneva Convention. There is no country called "al Qaedia" or a capital to attack. Osama isn't an elected head of state or a hereditary leader. He is a fanatic who has inspired and financed the murder of civilians.
He has more in common with Capone than with Mussolini.

Bush & Co have failed miserably in the "War on Terror."

We need another Democratic administration that'll take the threat seriously and not use it to advance a political agenda like the nutjob neocons have.
