American Idol: Season 10

downloaded Pia, Paul, James, Casey and Stefano's studio recordings...all are pretty good, but the boys def stood out above Pia in these. Especially Casey and Paul...I think I'll like Paul performing more when they let him strap a guitar on and he's not flailing all over the place...lol....that said, I do actually really like him and I'm thinking about downloading his band's album...haha
 
Did anyone think that this week's show was one of the best in a REALLY LONG time? Like I really couldn't remember for the longest time I'd done a hoop-a-hooping or jumping crazily out in my couch, and I did that several times throughout the night.

Where the hell did Pia come from? I mean, she nailed every single note that Celine hit. Like I got goosebumps, yo. Where has she been all this while is still a mystery to me. Plus she does seem nice though I'd like her to be a little bit more interesting.

Getting really tired really fast of Lauren and Casey and Jacob and Thia now. No wonder Casey had to visit the hospital, he probably pooped out bleeding hemorrhoids after growling through most of the Joe Crocker song.

Really weird how Ryan announced the bottom three. At first he was like, 'You are all SAFE...' and just when everyone was celebrating- '... except for YOU! KAREN!' And then he went 'You are in the bottom three Ashton...' then as Haley took a gasp of relief- 'YOU TOO, HALEY! You too.' And then as he announced 'The rest of you are SAFE!' and got no response and he had to walk over to the rest of the contestants and announce again 'Come on give me a little response here aiiightt???'

Haley should totally have left the competition first. It's really uncomfortable watching her swaying her body, swashing her hair and swivelling her hip... This aint a Pantene advertisement, girl. Ashton shouldn't have left this soon. I really thought girl had an almost Beyonce-like diva attitude. Would be interesting to see what she can add to the competition.

I loved Naima right from the start, but her singing umbrella looked kind of contrived for me. After weeks and weeks of donning these flowy dresses singing big ballads, to reggae and break dancing and rihanna? That's a big leap if I'd ever seen one. So why then did Randy pile heaps of praised on her and not Haley (with her Alicia Keys- Leann Rhymes crossover).

I actually don't like him all that much but my favourite of the night was definitely James. I'm surprised to find out that Maybe I'm Amazed was an original Paul McCartney's, all I remembered was that song as a soundtrack to the OC. But the producer he worked with DEFINITELY rocked that track up. It sounded so modern, and I liked James' control on the song. He didn't oversing this song like he did every week.

Stefano... sigh... I can stare into those eyes and that cute cute smile any day of the week...

At this point I actually would love me some Tim Halperin with his instrument. But that's me. Though one thing I'm happy with- no Chris Medina around.

But I think overall, we're heading in the right direction. The talents, as the dawg says it, is stronger than ever this season. Lots of big voices. And the producers didn't pimp out their favourites too much.

By the way, that song by the artist known as P-Dirty-Money-formerly-called-P-Diddy-or-Puffy-Sean-whatever-you-call-him kind of sucked. It's like Eminem's Mockingbird except shitier times 10,000. And Adam Lambert, I'm impressed by his makeover but not by his singing. If you put Kris Allen and him in a competition where they sing accoustic, Kris Allen would win it hands down.

So there's that.

As everyone lines up to take Stefano, I gladly claim Casey for his funny personality and cute cub looks. ;)

I actually really like this season. The judges are more fun, the contestants are more fun, there's more trainwrecks... best Idol season in a while? Way better than last year's shipwreck anyway, that's for damn sure.

Heh, on one "Idol" board they call her "Miss Piggy" - as you say, referring to the overly teased hair, outlandish (and frequently sparkly/trashy) clothes, and boisterous speaking/singing style.

I can tolerate her, but once I saw that "Miss Piggy" alias I just can't shake that label - I feel horrible, lol. Lauren comes on screen and it's like "Oh, there's Miss Piggy!"

I was so happy he was one of the first ones to be safe, guess my couple hundred of votes helped ;) I'm definitely gonna keep calling every week for 2 hrs straight and use my 50 online votes to keep him in, I really liked his performance last night too.

We must be the same person. I hated myself so hard for thinking that James actually looked super HOT without the doo-rag and the Naa'vi tail. He's a big sexy giant. Who knew?

Love ya slipintothefog but I so don't get the appeal of this dude. The growling thing to me just masks what a mediocre singer he actually is. "What would you do if I sang out of tune?" he asked before singing almost every note out of tune. I want to like him, but thus far he (and the show) are just selling us on this "Casey is a real artiste" BS and I just don't see it.

Then again, you do like them bears. :D

Oh this season is MUCH better than the last one. It's definitely been entertaining though mostly because of the absolutely gorgeous J-Lo. (Seriously, when was the last time a woman over 40 with a real body looked this good in high definition?) She's become the Queen of Idol for me and I love it. Steven I vary on, and I can still do without Randy. Season 8 with Adam and Kris will always be my favorite though.

Yeah, Casey's overpimping and extreme "OMG, he's an ARTIST!" fan reaction reminds me of Crystal at this time last year. I mostly liked both of them for their snarky personalities and Casey being hot. Also high on my entertainment meter are Haley's anal sex growling, Naima's dirty hippie dancing and that "Umbrella" performance in general, Paul McDonald's spastic dancing, Scotty singing "babylockthemdoors" with the laughably deep voice over and over, and more. So much hilarity this year. <3

AI8 might have been my favorite season out of sentimental value. It was the first season I was actively voting on Vote for the Worst (since I HATED AI7 so much) and damn I loved Megan Joy's caw caw birdie dance, Lil Rounds trying to hide her forehead veins popping out at the judges when she sang the songs they told her to sing and they still didn't like it, Hokey Gokey's "Dream On" screech, Allison being kooky and fun, Adam's gay harem "Ring of Fire" performance, Kris Who?'s hilarious upset victory, etc., etc.
 
haha my Dad keeps on calling Naima "the Diva" cause he thinks she looks like the Diva from the movie "The Fifth Element"
