American Idol: Season 10

This season is keeping my interest much more than last season. I don't know if it was the change in judges or the talent, but I actually remember to watch now.

I was really excited about Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler being judges, but they've been a little too generous with the compliments so far if you ask me, especially Steven. A few people really stunk up the joint, and I think they should have been a bit harsher.

I'm glad Ashton went home. She just wasn't that good. Next to go should be the Spanish chick who was also in the bottom 3 (I'm terrible with names, but I think her name was Karen). She's not too good either, and she seems a bit...farty.

I've been liking Pia, the Latino guy, and the guy with Tourrette's. The young Asian girl has an incredibly beautiful and mature voice for somebody her age, but I can't see her going far.

AI8 might have been my favorite season out of sentimental value. It was the first season I was actively voting on Vote for the Worst (since I HATED AI7 so much) and damn I loved Megan Joy's caw caw birdie dance, Lil Rounds trying to hide her forehead veins popping out at the judges when she sang the songs they told her to sing and they still didn't like it, Hokey Gokey's "Dream On" screech, Allison being kooky and fun, Adam's gay harem "Ring of Fire" performance, Kris Who?'s hilarious upset victory, etc., etc.

I don't think X-Factor will do as great as everyone thinks. They're showing after Idol finishes and a lot of people will already be done with a singing competition for the year. Me personally I've had enough of Simon and reading about the rules and everything it doesn't sound interesting to me.

They made some great changes on Idol. Both J-Lo and Steven are very entertaining. They got rid of the annoying judges Simon, Kara, Ellen.

I do agree with almost everything he says! I looove VFTW and their sense of humor. I listen to their radio show every week. That's how I knew last season was so terrible, even the VFTW picks were boring as fuck and couldn't make the show entertaining.

I had followed them since around season 4 or 5, and Sanjaya was fun, but it was only after season 7 (the one with the two Davids in the finale) was so fucking terrible that I truly started to embrace the Worster spirit.
 
Hey Slip, Casey is just great with a Tony the Tiger great. He is my fav of this season (not saying he will be everyone's). I love his energy, and was surprised he was back in the hospital during elimination. Something not good is going on there.

Stephano is so gawd awful cute with a big old swagger of sexy - squinty eyes and all - but when he opens them he has bliss flowing out of them. Those eyes are such a treasure. I have dirty thoughts about -
 
I hope this guy goes far in idol. He's gonna be a star no matter what now.

I really like that one, one of the best from that album. I only like a handful of songs from their first 3 albums, but I love most of their 4th & 5th albums.

This video is fanmade & one of my favorites which shows why I love them & my favorite song by them is playing.

Well i'm glad you liked it, the original album version of the song "Untouchable" is about 6:40.

You'd think. But the producers clearly don't care about that at all. They only care about who they want to win.

Such as the massively overpimped Casey.

Carly Smithson (I believe) had already had a go, and failed. Came to idol, sang an Evanescence song, later formed a band called "We Are The Fallen" and at one point claimed she knew nothing about Evanescence when forming it, despite singing "Bring Me To Life" on the show and tour.

Randy also worked for the label that signed her at the time she was signed.

They plainly don't care. Nor do they care about the talent, as can be evidenced by multiple remarks this season.

You can also look to Jacob Lusk, who backed up my claims that I'd seen several singers like him in church choirs by having a church-like choir on stage. In week 2 of live performances. Even whats-his-name from last season had to wait until the top 3 for such all out pimping.

My votes go to:

Naima - Originality, beauty, talent. That Umbrella performance, while a bit winded because she isn't used to it, was amazing. My favorite of the night.


I also like Lauren Alaina.
James Durbin can do well, but I really think he needs a bit of training.
Scotty has a stellar chance at winning, even with people attacking his voice. There's another country star out there with a similarly deep voice and I never see the same attacks to him. Now if Scotty would forever put babylockthemdoors behind him and make good song choices, he's got a great shot.

Karen needs to go. That bilingual performance of hers in the 24 was jarring. I love bilingual music but she didn't do it right at all. Also, every time I see her, I get a "beauty pageant" feel.
The obsession over Thia...I just don't get. She doesn't have a strong voice and tends to get swallowed by the stage and/or music. Add on top of that she was upset after the judges went amazingly easy on her, tearfully talking to the backstage camera. She is not mature enough for this, and her voice is absolutely not ready.

Based on talent and originality I'd put Naima in the top three, but the way people talk about her I fear those things are lost on many.

Sorry people stefano is not a good singer! None of the girls are going to win this year there is no way the talent is just not there. I really do wish simon was there to tell it how it is! Jlo and steven are just to nice and do not tell it how it should be.

casey or james durbin (james has the one up with the torrets which sadly are brownie points)
 
I don't get the hype over James. He just screams. He's not a singer in my opinion. And he always looks like hes about to cry. Not very "rock God" in my eyes.

I know Stefano can't sing. I just like to look at him.
