American Idol: Season 10

Re: i would die if the happened on American Idol

I don't get what the title of this thread is? What do you mean?

It's so funny you have that feeling about Scotty - I was thinking just the opposite, that it's possible he might kinda play for "our" team. During Hollywood week when there was a victory with a bunch of group contestants, there's a short moment where he immediately turned to the (admittedly hot) slightly Adam Lambert jet-black-haired emo/glamrock dude beside him and gave him a huge hug before most other people on stage reacted and when they were more subdued with others in their victory. He gave Jaycee a hug in one of the Top 12 announcement episodes, and was crying about how he didn't defend him (and said he cried in bed at night over it).

I'm not saying the act of hugging or crying makes somebody less than straight, that's ridiculous to say, and there's nothing neither wrong or gay about either gesture. But I get the sense the way he interacts with contestants and how deeply he seems to feel things is at odds with a stoic North Carolina straight manly-man vibe. Again, not that that means he bats for our team - just there seems to be more going on than a masculine country & western singer crooner act. And maybe he just thought Brett was annoying. :)

It felt like the whole Jaycee thing was because he didn't want America to hate him. Jaycee's clearly not hot so I don't think that has anything to do about it. Who knows if he actually really cried and if he did it there's a good chance it's because he didn't want to ruin his chances and have America hate him. About the other guy, I don't remember what he looked like but Adam Lambert isn't hot either so he probably wasn't hot either.

Re: i would die if the happened on American Idol

Sound like the girl was being rather rude, trying to call Ryan gay.

Re: i would die if the happened on American Idol

I wonder if secretly Ryan was affected by that name :)

Re: i would die if the happened on American Idol

If she called him Sweetie that wouldn't have been a big deal. Not to mention Simon has said much worse to him and that never stuck.

Re: i would die if the happened on American Idol

Peaches because they were both from Georgia

I can't wait for result night and to see JLO's On The Floor world premiere video :D

#9 debut on Billboard Hot 100
#2 on Canadian Hot 100

woo-hoo!!

LOL! Hey, give me some credit for taste! :) This dude was never singled-out or profiled amongst the Hollywood week contestants (and obviously didn't make it for continuing on), but I thought he was smokin' in the glimpses I saw of him, one of the hottest guys there (and I don't think Adam is hot either, I was just making a comparison to the glamrock thing). I just don't think turning to this guy in a split-second and giving him a huge hug is something a "homophobic Scotty" might do and feel comfortable about, so I'm not feelin' any kind of vibe about Scott being that way that you feel.

I watched the guys but there was some fast forwarding.

I didn't watch any of the girls sing their songs although I know some were good. I wasn't interested.

You didn't miss anything. I fast forwarding thru every one of the girls after hearing about 10 seconds. Only two were decent.

That Lauren chick and that Scotty (the country dude) will potentially have great careers. Lauren is a natural. A true "star". And that dudes has a great voice for country music, which has a huge fan base that actually purchases music.

The mixing was better last night, and everybody seemed more relaxed (the Asperger's guy seemed a little too relaxed, this dude is going to be fun to watch).

But you guys who are snubbing the women, you missed some great stuff. I got goosebumps twice, one with Thia Magia and once with Pia Toscano at the end. And I didn't get goosebumps once with the guys (not even with the "spa concierge", who's definitely on our team...)

Thia and Pia, check them out on Youtube if you missed it.

The girls were definitely better than the guys which goes against what I originally thought, which was that the guys were gonna be stronger this year.

Lauren, Pia, Lauren, Kendra, Karyn are my 5 picks

Nayima, Theia, and Ashthon are my alternates....all have good voices but their performances bored me with their song choices.

really though Julie Zorrilla was gonna be one to watch but she blew it

I don't think homophobic people are afraid to hug other men though especially to celebrate. Only if they think or know the person is gay. Brett is someone who clearly stands out as gay. I can't say if the other guy did or not because I haven't seen him.

I'm so excited for this season. I think they've got some amazing people. There's quite a few that I think have potential to become stars.

it's bull that Kendra didn't make it through....Nayima didn't really deserve it in my opinion....and neither did Hayley

the rest I'm fairly happy with

^Yeah, I agree 100%. Kendra should have made it over Ashton and Hayley.

I'm glad Stefano made it though. I really like him. But every season, there's someone that so should have made the Top 12/13 and didn't. I guess Kendra fits that spot this year.

I think this year's Top 13 is the best since Season 7. Not alot of fodder. This group actually has talent. I wish Robbie and Kendra made it over Hailey and Stefano though. Those two annoy the piss out of me.

I do agree that this Top 13 is super strong. If I could switch some people around, I'd put Robbie and Kendra in the Top 13 and get rid of Ashton and that deep-voiced country boy.

I'm so glad Stefano made it. for once they have a cute guy with talent. I forgot how a good a singer he was until tonight. We don't need a repeat of Tim Urban fuckery.

Did anyone else notice how the camera kept cutting to James Durbin's reaction shots to Stefano like he was his girlfriend?
