I didn't agree with the judges using the save on Casey. He showed all kinds of promises during the audition rounds but when it came time to perform live, he growls every single song. So when his name was mentioned to be in the bottom 3 I seriously wasn't surprised. I honestly didn't know why the judges praised his performance of Nirvana's Smells like Teen Spirit. To me it sounded as bad as Danny Gokey's screechy Sing with Me. In fact, worse.
Then when he was saved, he swung 180 degrees and was so darn boring until these intense parts where he- as usual- growled again. People will vote for him for the novelty of the 'save' but I definitely do not see him as the winner for this season.
Naima. I rooted for her for her story and her passion when she sings. But who sings Raggae on American Idol and not expected to be eliminated. Seriously?
Paul. When the 4 guys stood in a single line performing. My eyes turned to him immediately. But that means only one thing- he belongs in a band. When it comes time to really perform one on one on a stage live, it's a little painful to watch. Having said that, I think he survived based on his talents and his cheeky charisma, and those people at VFTW are claiming victory for him not being eliminated. How delusional are those people?
Thia had the potential to be big, but not with ballads. I would have thought the Asian community would have gone all out for her though. Guess that didn't happen.
With Jacob it's like Heidi Klum says. One minute you're In, the next you're Aus.
Haley- needs to go 2 weeks ago.
Scotty- needs to go 3 weeks ago.
Stefano- can stay as long as he wants. So long he leaks more shirtless pictures online, like Tim.
James... I'm still undecided over him. I'd love to see him strip down some songs and do something unexpectable, like a ballad. Mix it up, make it interesting, like David Cook. These says his songs are so huge it's hard to enjoy them really.
At this rate I see the final showdown between Lauren and Pia. I actually don't understand the animosity towards Lauren. She's 16, come on, at 16 years old I acted that way too. And you can't deny the quality of her voice, which is timeless. And this week's performance to me was her best.
Pia's got an amazing voice and I agree in Randy comparing her to Mariah and Celine. The problem I have is her bland bland bland personality. Once she finished performing, it's like all she does is smile at the camera whispering thank you, thank you, thank you, like she's on a beauty pageant. It's all she does. And I don't remember a single thing about her from any of her clips/snippets.
We'll see how it goes, but my predictions are- Lauren wins the whole thing and Pia comes in as a close second.
Jennifer is turning out to be quite a good judge. I think her comments have been dead on most of the time. And I still love Tyler but I think the show producers stifled him too much, so much so that all he comments is-good. I loved that. Good. I've got no problems with that. Good.
And noticed how there's practically no impact when Randy said, "best performance of the night", than say if Simon said it? Lol. Losing Simon hurt American Idol a lot, in my opinion.
And What the hell with 55,000 votes cast during this week. It's definitely unfair to do this comparison since they added the online votes this year. These people must think we're stoopid.
