'American Idol' Season 12

I'm glad that Burnell went home tonight and that Lazaro is the last guy standing. Nice to see that Burnell's snide remark about Lazaro last week ended up biting him in the ass!

Burnell only said "I did what I was supposed to do." He didn't call out Lazaro. This is wrong in so many ways that Lazaro was is top 3. That's completely another planet with a different view of singing. Lazaro forgets words in a song and especially duets and and always blames something else. " I never heard the song before - the band was playing the wrong key - I didn't have enough time to practice." And he is a characture. Total bs. I knew that Burnell was going home and now you and I know one of the more talented girls will go before Lazaro. And if he ends up winning then good on the judges and the producers because he'll never sell. And how can those judges think that there are 3 girls more talented than Candace? That girl is stellar.

I thought I would be watching this season but I'm over this show after randomly turning in and seeing the Rock n Roll fail night. At this point, if you're a dedicated viewer of this show you kind of look like one of those people playing the violin when the Titanic was going down. At least that's how I see it. And I'm not trying to insult any of the viewers. Just an opinion.

Idol once commanded a massive audience and dedicated following, but it should have gracefully bowed out of the spotlight years ago instead of dragging the show along forever and in the process making sure it loses all credibility and just crashes and burns. Ratings continue to erode rapidly, the show has posted some of its lowest ratings ever (includes Season 1 ratings) and is now beginning to lose to both Modern Family and The Voice in the 18-49 demographic. The public seems to be rapidly losing interest.

This show has become more of an outlet for people to relaunch their careers (see: Jennifer Lopez) as opposed to actually finding talent. Mariah Carey will undoubtedly try to score a 19th #1 single and maybe a new album #1 with the show as her career has fizzled out a bit (not like she needs the money really). Nicki and Keith Urban will probably be doing similar things.

I think the show started going downhill when they added in Kara. It's not that Kara alone ruined the show. It's just that there was no sense in adding in a 4th judge and throwing off the dynamic that already existed. If it isn't broken, why fix it? And instead of correcting the mistake right there they messed it up more in seasons to come. Paula and Simon leaving definitely hurt the show. The J Lo, Randy, Steven combo was mediocre at best.

Peace out Idol.

Who in the fuck is voting for Lazaro...

Vote For The Worst, the usual alliance of tweens and cougars who have nowhere else to put their hormone vote this season, and a few hearing-impaired guys in this thread.

Please... lol. I'm not the only one who feels the same way about Lazarro, Native Son. He forgot his lyrics... again. And will continue to do so. His performance was "HIS" best so far, but he's still the worst. Sorry about it.

His performance was "HIS" best so far,

How can you even rank them? All of Lazaro's performances have been flat, inert and unmemorable to me in exactly the same way. It's like listening to the sound my printer makes when it's out of toner.

:=D: Excellent point, but the "Lazzy" fan girls (like some people on this thread [-X) will defend him no matter what because they have a little school girl crush on him.

Burnell only said "I did what I was supposed to do." He didn't call out Lazaro.
He was referring to the fact that Lazaro forgot some of the lyrics. He also followed it up with "This is a competition". As if he stood a rat's ass chance in hell of winning. If it had been a duet with his friend Candice and she happened to forget the lyrics, you and I both know he wouldn't have said a single thing about "doing what I was supposed to do".

Yeah except Candace is a consummate pro who doesn't forget her lyrics and is outsinging them week to week. Lazaro has been terrible each week, forgotten his lyrics multiple times, always offers some lame excuse about not knowing the song/not having enough time to practice, and doesn't give a raw fuck because he knows the combination of his backstory + looks + worster-votes will keep him in the competition. Burnell had every right to resent that and call him out on it.

Devin and Jimmy called out Lazaro too btw and it's the only time all season I liked Burnell, Devin or Jimmy.

I think I was taken aback by the rock performance that Burnell gave because I saw him in a different light and it was not a good light. The song was way too big for him and he literally started shrinking under the weight of the song. I still think he has a place in music and hopefully on tour he will shine.

I'm so sick of Jimmy, way too much airtime. He does not need to be a regular fixture each week. His advice is always way off and misguiding.

Yeah, the whole thing is so weird. He's there to judge to the judging? Lord knows they need it, but in the end he's just a twitchy dick with an agenda. Example: Kree did an awful Janis, and yet he sucked her ass.

That said, I do pay attention to his critiques. Everyone else, with the exception of Nicki, I just mostly FFWD.

No, no, no. I'm not into having TV boyfriends...anymore. He's in a loving, committed relationship, and I'm happy for the handsome couple. Yay.

But I did 'friend' his bulge on Facebook.

So I rest my case. Please quit defending his vocals. He needs to go. BYE LAZZY!

I have a HUGE crush on him physically. His lower notes and tone are pleasant, but he never takes it to the level other contestants do. Just when a song gets to where a high note should be, he disappoints. As much as I lust him, it's his time.

I follow him on Twitter and he does indeed call his fans "lazis." His tweets indicate that fame has gotten to him. Very self-centered. That's a bit of a turn-off.

Like I said, Lazaro is hot and he can't sing without the aide of auto-tune. Which makes him the perfect candidate for a role on Glee. Make it happen Ryan Murphy.
