'American Idol' Season 12

They wanted a woman to win in the worst way, now they got it. But the blatant manipulation of the producers and judges to give us crappy males, or at best unappealling ones, will likely be rewarded by the worst ratings plunges in the final weeks they've ever experienced. Couldn't happen to a more deserving boatload of idiots.

Of course. Let's be honest, had the producers not manipulated the outcome by preventing a straight white guy from being one of the ten finalists, some of the girls would have already been eliminated. It just so happened that all the guys who did make it through were eliminated consecutively. And only one of them is straight. The rest are gay. So yeah, a girl will win only because of producer intervention.

And not just the ratings are down. The vote totals are down too. Last night's votes only totaled around 34 million which is VERY low especially this late in the competition.

And that Jimmy Iovine man or whatever the fuck his name is gives terrible critiques and advice. How did he get so far up in the music industry? It was probably a case of good luck or good connections.

This season is really NO DIFFERENT than seasons past.

Oh really? Cuz...

So yeah, a girl will win only because of producer intervention.

Those seem like differences to me.

I'd really like to know how the Lazzies in this thread defend tonight's performance which was abysmal even by Lazaro's terribly low standard. ...

I agree it was abysmal. But he has such beautiful eyes and forehead! … … …… but that clip ^ … I just can't … … as Digital Fudge would say … …:o

now mind you i havent watched at all this season, but commenting on if an idol can sell out arenas and concerts, that might mean an idol, but those people dont always win, i remember that right after kris allen won, he was coming to a large concert venue where i was and a few weeks before the show, they changed the tickets to buy 1 get one 1 just to fill the seats, and this guy won, this show has always shown that winning doesnt mean anything, daughtry, hudson, lambert, mcphee, all technical 'losers' in the competition but still doing a shit ton more that most of the winners now.

but that clip ^ … I just can't

Can't what?

He just says that he understands the criticism, but his second go-around was fantastic! Therefore the judges don't really know what they're talking about--especially since they've hit their clunkers, too--and win or lose, the show doesn't define him as an artist nor a human being.

I bet even Nicole Kidman watches the show solely for Nikki Minaj.

^ Ah?

Candice's "Lovesong" performance now joins the ranks of Fantasia's "Summertime" and Adam Lambert's "Mad World" on the list of truly great, transcendent Idol performances.

Please. You're the new Randy.

I have no idea what that means. But then I'm not sniffing Lazaro's jockstrap and crying every time he stutters.

It's just a correlation about how Randy is always falling all over himself to tout the next big thing--every week, no less--and your post.

But if you were really transcended, then I take it back. Sorry for it.

To hell with Randy. Candice's performance is all ANYONE is talking about. Do a quick google search and you'll see every major media outlet is buzzing about her. It literally gave Idol the pop-culture jolt it needed this season. I was impressed...and so was almost everyone else who saw it.

Lazaro's fans should also be grateful because the only reason more people aren't laughing about how that clown finally got the boot is because Candice stole the show.

Well, I don't get it. Shall we examine it?

I get that she may be a technically proficient vocalist, but It didn't move me. I skimmed past her, in fact. It was a cover of a not-so-interesting Adele cover of a not-so-interesting Cure song.

It's so hard to get through any of them is all I'm going to say.

That's fine if you don't think she was good -- I mean this is subjective after all -- but it's a lot harder to take that argument seriously when you've spent so much time extolling the virtues of LAZARO...is all I'm saying.

That's like debating the literary merits of Faulkner while praising Stephenie Meyers.

He's definitely the Edward Cullen in that group, I'll say that much.

As stated before I loved Candice Glover's version of Adele's Lovesong. It was gorgeous. Then I bought the single from itunes and it is even better in the long version. Her voice control, the way the arrangement is done is exquisite.

I think Native that your love for Lazaro shadows your ears. There is not a person on this planet that loves Adele more than I do but Candice did that song so much justice and better than Adele.

Native Son, please just stop. :( You're in over your head with Lazzie. How can you NOT be moved by Candice's performances last week, then post tube videos of Lazarros performance, AND one that he forgot the lyrics to?
