Wow Jordin totally stole the show! She's definitely the dark horse of the competition and could very well win!

My baby did great! I've heard otherwise from some people but I thought he did good.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Although I'm with 'some people' on Blake. I don't think he was as great as Simon thought he was.

And surprise, Sanjaya was good. That just means one more week he'll be around. Is hunger strike girl dead yet?

I don't get what Simon wants out of Jordin..she blew the song away and was sensational!Progress every week?How about real good every week...this was Latin week,more fun entertaining songs than vocasl powerhouse showcases,yet Jordin did

Melinda was professional and excellent,didn't seem to play around and emphasize the fun,but her version was so good it needed no extras.Lakisha was really good,but have to agree too safe and unchallenging a song choice.

Chris was really good,and he exudes the showmanship.personality and stage presence Justin has...both have good voices for the R&B style,though limited in flexibility and great range.However,Chris is as good potentially,cuter and as charismatic as Justin,he will get a recording contract and I believe do well.

Finally,your Blake...I'm with the judges tonight,he was outstanding.He is rawer and rougher than Marc Anthony,not quite as rangy a singer,But he did great and works hard...shows a professional,charismatic approach that emphasizes his good vocals as well as exuding his personality.Damn,between Chris and Blake it's tough to choose one to go farther on Idol,but I suspect it will be the cool,stylish Blake.

Naw, I don't think he'll win it. He does have rough talent that could be honed with training.

I kinda liked his performance tonight but he'll be booted eventually.

Jennifer Lopez (I refuse to call her J. Lo) actually surprised me tonight. Maybe I had really low expectations, but I actually thought she had some good advice for the contestants and she was really fun and nice. I though almost everybody did really well tonight.

-Melinda did great, theres really no use judging her, she's just flat out good.

-Lakisha sang well tonight, but her performance and dancing was kinda robotic.

-I loved Chris tonight. He takes every single song he sings and makes it his own and makes it very current. His song choices are always great. I haven't heard a lot of him singing in his lower register and it sounds great. Probably my favorite performance tonight and I wouldn't mind seeing him in the finale. And he's just freaking hot, there's no denying it.

-Hayle, well, she had fun up there, but her vocals are just not near the caliber of the others on the show, but this was one of her better performances. Her voice just doesn't project at all.

-Phil, no, just no. He was just bad tonight. His voice kinda creeps me out. He tried to nail the glory notes that have been saving him the past couple weeks, but all his voice did was crack. He seems like a nice guy and all, but it may be his time to go.

-I love Jordin, she is definitely one of my favorites. However, tonight I was, dare I say it, a little bored with her performance. She was definitely fierce tonight and sang flawlessly, but it was all "boring boring, GLORY NOTE, boring boring, GLORY NOTE". Maybe it was the song for me, but I was just expecting more. 'I who have nothing' still has me in love with her though.

-Blake did good. It's kinda weird though. He is so much better at singing verses than he is with the choruses. Good song choice though and a solid performance.

-Sanjaya, Sanjaya, Sanjaya, bold move singing a song in Spanish but I still want you gone.

At the moment I would really like it to be a Jordin/Chris finale, with either taking it home, but at the same time I feel Melinda deserves to be there because she just so damn good. Anyways, best tonight: Chris, Blake, Melinda/Jordin. Bottom three: Phil, Hayle, Sanjaya (we can only hope)

Latin Music Night

Not so bad over all. Melinda and Lakisha could have added more to their performances (Melinda needed to move a bit, Lakisha needs to learn how to move well). However, they both provided good performances. Simon's gripe the entire night about safe songs was lost on me. Many of the songs chosen, like the ones by Melinda and Lakisha, are staples of the latin music industry. He's essentially hating on the music and not the performer. Eh.

Chris was OK. Not stellar, even though the judges were positive.

Haley just looks odd everytime she's on stage. She was just ok, including her awkwardness.

Phil was HORRENDOUS. For me, one of the most recognizable Latin songs (or at least song done by a Latin performer) is Carlos Santana's "Maria, Maria." He started off the song very low, he had no emotion in his voice, and the voice cracking at the end was like the nail in the coffin. For once, someone should have actually LISTENED to Jenny from the Block and taken her advice.

Jordin as always did well. She has this glow about her on stage and she really shines. While I've always been a fan, I think I'm starting to like her over Melinda and Lakisha a little more week by week.

Blake's performance was one of the best male performances this week.

Sanjaya...was actually GOOD this week. He's another finalist who also sticks to a low register when singing, and his song choice was wise as it catered to his comfort zone. He's still not versatile enough to be a true Idol finalist but he did well for tonight.

Who's going home? My first pick is Phil, followed closely by Haley. Surprise ejection...Chris or Sanjaya, moreso the former than the latter.

I get the feeling Lakisha is going to be in the bottom three. She didn't sound as stellar as usual, got bad reviews from two of the judges, went early on in the night (makes it easier to forget), and in my opinion has been losing momentum with each week. I don't think she'll get eliminated but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see her have a scare this week which will hopefully put her back on track.

I think the bottom three will be Lakisha, Phil and Haley with Phil going home, which is fine by me. He hasn't been the greatest this whole competition.

Those are also my picks for next to go.

Phil is okay....but I really have a hard time looking at him...he's kind of scary looking. I won't miss him.

Hayley...best thing about her is her legs and looks...probably what's keeping her in the competition.

Lakisha...yep, she's a diva...too young to have such an Aretha Franklin image/style. She's good (very good ....I mean!) but not original...and Melinda and Jordan are better, and each also have more personality and stage appeal than Lakisha. Melinda is too much like a lounge singer though for me. Jordan has a real fresh appeal and style...more contemporary than the others who are old school.

After a few weeks of watching this...my favorites are Blake and Jordan, and would like to see those two make it to the end...with Sanjaya 3rd (just for the controversy, laugh and scare it would give Simon :badgrin: )...and I want Chris to stick around for the eye candy.
