Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope not. I would miss him. Sanjaya needs to GO!!!!

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please get Sanjaya off this program!! My god! How long must we endure him?!?

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like Chris, but like Justin his voice is an acquired taste and he has to be incredible to win, which tonight he wasn't...the singing was fine, but like lakisha he didn't really connect, look terribly comfortable with the song choice. My bottom three:Sanjaya(as if),Chris and Lakisha.I think the top three will be Jordin(my winner so far if I had the vote),Melinda(May not win because she just seems too mature and polished already, too efficient and effortless. But she brings it EVERY week),and Blake, who keeps impressing me and is really good, more consistent than Chris. Please, let us be done with the distraction that is Sanjaya Malakar!

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh whatever.........Sanjaya 4 life, we all know Chris and Phil are gonna be voted off before Sanjaya.

No....if the voting makes any sense, and that asshole from voteforthe worst.com and his traitorous ally the ingrate backstabbing Paris Bennett(who I always had loved until she pulled this asinine stunt backing these phone slamming hacks)don't get their way,it will be the heave-ho for Sanjaya tomorrow, nice but somewhat unsettling Phil next week, and Chris after that.I am not holding my breath common sense will prevail.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, so the show tonight wasn't very good at all. Maybe two people did well.

Phil is okay, but man he cannot keep my attention. The whole time he was walking around the audience, I was looking at everything except Phil and wasn't listening to him. He's been on the bottom for a while now and I doubt that performance will save him just like Simon said.

Jordan was one of the very few that did good tonight. It started pretty shaky, but one again she got it together and had a great performance. I want her in the finale.

Sanjaya.......possibly his worst yet. Simon really went off on him tonight saying "It really isn't funny anymore". Hopefully America will agree.

Lakisha made on of the worst mistakes you could make. She sang a popular song from a previous idol. She wasn't very good tonight and pretty much yelled the whole time. I think Lakisha is gonna be in trouble tomorrow.

Chris's performance was OK. It had some good moments, but also some bad. He also talked back to Simon about being nasally and said it was "a style of singing". I get what he is saying, but I don't think it came out right. He should have said it was his style not a style and I think it's a style that works for him. I forgot he was from Virginia and he really looked like he was about to cry when he said he had friends over there. I think he may be at risk for bottom three (i hope not), but I hope he doesn't go home. (longest paragraph - can you tell he's my favorite? haha)

Melinda was of course the one other person that did good tonight. I actually thought she looked really good tonight. Her style hasn't been that good in the past, but she looked really young and spunky with her outfit and slightly longer hair. Great performance from the great Melinda.

Blake ended the show and it was just OK. I feel like on the longer notes he starts way off key and doesn't find the note until his vibrato kicks in. But, this music is definitely not his style so I guess he did ok for being so far out of his comfort zone.

Bottom three: Phil, Lakisha, Sanjaya (If America is over it) / or Chris (If America is still laughing)

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Top 12 THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i missed Phil and Jordin's performances tonight....turned it on just as they were starting Jordin's judging so i can't comment on them really except for the clips from the end....in which Phil sounded like phil and Jordin sounded great as usual

Sanjaya...i'm not even commenting

Melinda....i usually think she's does great obvi....but never really like her....I LOVED her tonight! first of all...the longer hair makes her actually look 29 or however old she is....she looked fantastic tonight and she sounded great....she had fun with it which is something i think usually lacks in her performances

Chris I always like ...i like his voice...and for Simon to talk about it being too nasal...first of all...that's how he sings...and lots of people like it...second of all...that's how the dude from Rascall Flatts sings too!! I thought he sounded great on that song!

Lakisha...kinda bored me with the Carrie song...all of the emotion that Martina said she brought to the song in rehersals...i really didn't see much of it in her performance

Blake...i think he needs to go....every week it's the same thing....he turns a good song into a slow jazzy lounge act song....and i'm sorry...he isn't that cute.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The show didn't do much for me tonight, possibly my dislike for country music. That being said, I thought Phil, who I disliked all along was good! As was Chris. Sanjaya was horrible.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I don't like Lakisha. When she sings, all I see is tongue. She has a weird lisp that I don't like, and her tongue is too big for her mouth. Her vocals are good, but I can't get over the whole sound of 'singing with new dentures in,' because that's what it sounds like.

Melinda and Jordin stole the night.

I love, love, love Jordin. She's gorgeous, she's got the look, and she sang "Broken Wing" so perfectly. Amazing!

Meanwhile, it looks like Melinda's toying with her hair for a bit of a younger look, which is great. Her hair last night was great, she looked smokin' hot! It took ten years off her appearance. Meanwhile, her version of "Trouble is a Woman" was fierce. Made me wanna dance!

If either if those two take it, I'll be happy. But at the same time, I sort of hope that they lose so that they won't be forced to sign some ridiculous record deal with American Idol. Let 'em call their own shots!

Meanwhile, the rest were very "meh." The bald dude, who sucked donkey nuts last week, was pretty good... but he was still nothing compared to Jordin and Melinda. The guys were all pretty ho-hum tonight, and Lakisha was just way out of her element.

Then Sanjaya. Does the dude ever get off the same note? He sings every song in the same note. The same tone, the same pitch... he seems to have absolutely ZERO singing ability. Blech! Get him gone!

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like Chris, but his singing tonight was his worst yet, and his arrogance with Simon in defending his nasal sound did not come off well, especially right before he made a poignant statement about his VT friends. Disappointed in him tonight, but hope he will stay.

Phil SOUNDED better tonight than he ever has, but his energy still wasn't there. The way he strolled around the audience just didn't work with how well he sang tonight.

Lakisha screamed through her performance. Her worst shot yet, and I would not be surprised to see her go home tomorrow night.

Amen on everything Simon said tonight, especially about Sanjaya. It is time for him to go home. It is neither funny nor cute if he ends up bumping someone who really should have a shot at winning. This is not about just a cheesy pop show--a lot is at stake for those who are serious enough to really need the shot at the brass ring that winning or even placing in the top three could bring them. He was terrible tonight, as usual.

Melinda was great as usual, and she's really looking good. Hard to believe that the somewhat sexy powerhouse tonight was the school-marmish singer who started a few months ago.

Jordin Sparks was terrific. I love this kid. She's fresh, sweet, and extremely talented. I hope she gets to the end.

Ah, and Blake. Adorable, and even on a night when he's not at his best, he's still good. My friend made a comment that I've noticed on several other nights about his singing. He has this almost vague quasi-british sound at times. Something about how words form in his mouth I just really like. Plus, again, adorable.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I completely agree with you Killjoke on all accounts.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris is sooo cheesey. He had a terrible performance and then he starts talking about the VT murders.

Simon rolls his eyes... I can see why but still kind of cruel even for Simon.

I agree 100% with Simon, and I rolled my eyes along with him. Stating things like that sounds like a 'sympathy plea' for somebody to vote for him because 'he cares.' Pathetic.

I agreed with Simon. That was totally inappropriate to make that kind of comment after the judges criticize his performance(which didn't go his way), and after Ryan gave out his numbers. It unveiled his true motive, and that was to get a sympathy vote, and I can guarantee viewers caught on to that.

That looked very bad, and I rolled my eyes as well.. I was in agreement with Simon on that.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate to say it but it could be Chris' night to go...his or Lakisha's. Both had the weakest performances last night and haven't been improving over the past few weeks either. I'll guess Lakisha is out.

Chris' performance wasn't good and then trying to defend himself with the absurd comment that he meant to sing nasally...what kind of logic is that? Then his trying to be sincere with his V Tech remembrance...the timing was just sooo off. I think he was flustered and rushed because he knew they wanted to go to break and he really did want to make a heartfelt sentiment. Simon was still agitated by the absurdity of the nasal reply...not anything to do with V Tech. The whole situation was just weird and bad timing...nothing else. Love the audacity of some of these "kids" though to think they can stand up to Simon and try to put him in his place...sorry Chris but you're no match for Simon (well, come to think of it...Sanjaya really doesn't seem to be intimidated by him ;) ).

Jordan sounds, acts and looks like a star...she stole the show again with her performance. I was also impressed with Phil (for the first time)...still don't like him though. The rest were, as Simon would say, forgettable. Could be that I'm just not into that genre of music.

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sanjaya, dude, no straight man smiles that big. NONE.

Also, it's "shiny, happy people," not "shining, happy people."

Re: AMERICAN IDOL 6 Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not WHAT Chris said, but WHEN he chose to say it. It's not as if Ryan is so intimidating that Chris couldn't have offered his sympathy when first approached. But he waited until after he'd received a less-than-perfect review to seemingly 'use' the tragedy to his advantage, and that's just low, IMO. Bonnie Raitt has always sung both country and blue, BTW, way before she was pigeonholed into 'pop'. She's old enough to have been around when musicians were permitted to perform whatever they wanted. (Met her when I was in college...very cool! Think she'd have gotten a kick out of Sanjaya had he not attempted to play 'straight' last night.) Melinda's song choice and performance sold me! She's always terrific, but she stepped it up last night! Awesome!:D
