Another ratings hit for FOX's American Idol....

At this rate, it won’t take Fox much time at all to catch up with the Big Three, much less pull ahead. The second night of the network’s “American Idol” delivered ratings nearly as spectacular as night one, sending the other networks into a deep funk last night.

“Idol” averaged 36.9 million total viewers from 8 to 10 p.m. last night, according to Nielsen overnights, just 600,000 fewer than its record debut total Tuesday night. It was up an impressive 5.4 million over last year’s night two, though that show was only an hour long.

Among adults 18-49, “Idol” averaged a 15.4, 0.3 behind Tuesday’s debut. That was up 18 percent over last year’s 13.0 for night two. “Idol” peaked with 39.6 million total viewers at 9 p.m. and a 17.0 in 18-49s.

What’s more, “Idol” obliterated the competition last night, outdrawing the other four English-language networks combined. Only one show, CBS’s “Criminal Minds,” managed to draw a rating above 3.0 in 18-49s, and among total viewers, it was the only competitor to top 10 million.

Wasn't that hilarious, though? I also found it funny when Ryan told them they could swtich hair because they literally looked like the same person, age, no bra, and awfully lipstick and all.

I loved Simon calling the one guy a monkey. He was all 'first off, you look a bit odd' and it just got worse from there.

Or what about the guy who blinked like TWICE the entire six or seven minutes we had to endure him?

I really almost feel bad for the judges.

I think the producers of American idol were clearly the worst that overweight kid with the speech impediment seemed mentally ill

Okay the chick with the blonde wig/red lipstick/gold top (with no braw, mind you)/black stockings/and orthepedic blue tennis shoes was bar-none the absolutely worse audition contestant I have ever witness in 6-years of watching American Idol. Not just because she butchered 'Dont Cha' (a none too challenging song vocally), but her Weird-Factor was just off the charts. Clearly she and her mother were not mentally all-together, the girl was weird, scary weird, and for that she knocks even William Hung out of the top slot of 'Worse Ever'...hands down.

So, all of these people are prescreened, right? And then they pick, what, the worst and the best and send them in to the judges?

So the judges are really only there for entertainment, to comment on bad acts since the producers already know these guys won't make the cut. Isn't that really what's happening here? Some of the acts sent on to them are so atrocious that there's no way the presceeners should have let them through. I mean, its not like the judges are helping to filter out the good and bad people, right?

The HOTNESS!! hahaha! She was funny when they dissed her. The girl and her mom were kinda funny but in an uncomfortable weird way. Red was by far the worst singer.

If all of these contestants are as big a fan of Idol as they say they are (sans Red who has seen it a time or two), then last year they were watching the preview to Idol and know what could happen to them. They must have signed a release as well (of course probably before the audition), but come on, its been on how many years and how many years have they had "the worst of" on? Other than those who might have been mentally challenged and not within their right mind, they all should have known what they were possibly getting in to. Of course that could possibly apply to most of the "worst of" contestants.
Was there really one clear cut "worst of" in Seattle? Oh, the humanity......
