I've always found that the contestants deserve whatever criticism they get. Most of them know how well they can sing before they decide to waste the judges time when they can't. That, and just attending the audition tells the judges they can take whatever is dished at them.

Everyone whines and complains about Simon being too mean but everyone knows he is the only judge whose opinion people take seriously.

I was kind of disappointed in this season, considering the lack of variety in terms of contestants compared to last season. Last season's group of contestants were so diverse, we had a bit of everything for people to enjoy. This year, I can really only spot about four unique contestants, whereas everybody is doing R&B or pop. Of course, maybe the unique qualities may come out in the next few weeks.

That said, I'm hoping the male top six group this year has Blake Lewis (boy is UNIQUE), Chris Richardson, and Nick Pedro.

The girls though, I feel, are kicking the guys' butts this year. I sincerely hope Lakisha Jones makes the top six, as well as Jordin and Melinda Doolittle.

And I'd vote if they accepted votes from abroad. So I'll just go out and ask for people to vote for the people I just mentioned in my place!

I'm kind of mad though, in the auditions there were so many good female singers with better personalities that made it through to Hollywood but got cut down, like Baylie Brown, Jory Steinberg (fucking amazing) and Perla Meneses (not a great singer, but could improve and had amazing personality). Some of them were way better than some of the girls that got in. Honestly, I can really only name about four girls this year. A lot of them are very forgettable. And seriously, Baylie Brown worked a lot harder (and sang better) than Antonella Barba, how is it that the latter made the top 24 instead of Baylie? *Sigh* I miss last year. The girls were great then.

Oh my god Melinda Dolittle was so adorable! I love how she's this shy kinda insecure little former back up singer then she goes up there and tears it up with that voice of hers! I totally voted for her last night and she'd better make it far!

P.S. Blake is hot!

^^^^^True true. He's a successfull record exec with tens of millions in the bank so you must think he knows what/who will sell in the pop market. I like Simon!

while his comments are entertaining i very much dbout his abitily to spot talent per se. on x-factor his acts have been consistently shitty. i think he knows how to market his artistes but theyre not really all that great talent-wise.

VFTW were encouraging people to vote for Sundance and Antonella - neither of whom deserve to move on based on this week's performances.

Either LaKisha or Melinda should win it and be the 2nd female black winner after Fantasia who is peddling her newest release on the results show tonight.

This is a reality show, if Simon were all nicey-nice we wouldn't be talking about him. It's part of the reason people watch.

It's a TV show, come on... People know that they're gonna be trashed on it. Most of them can't even sing... and the viewers want to see people fail, that's just how it is... I love the auditions, after that I often lose interest in following the show.

Nobody worthy was eliminated last night and whether you make Top 12 or Top 24, if someone is gonna discover you it will happen, or not.

I kinda agree, but did you hear what Ryan revealed? Sanjaya was in the Top 4 among the males. Guess all the teens voted for him, as he is the only one.

it's really amusing to me to see a mean british giving critism to a bunch of arrogant americans.
same as hell's kitchen, ramsey gordon shout at a bunch of bad cooks.

Oh wow Sunjaya just finished singing "Steppin Out" and......wow yikes! It was pretty bad. Poor guy-he sang it for his grandfather and everything.
