Problem is, both Melinda and Lakisha don't look the part.

Yes, they have great voices, but that only gets you so far in the business. And, their song styles aren't current, nthey won't atract a large crowd. Look at Nick for example, he had a good voice, much better than the others, but he was singing crooner songs.

Nick's voice was horrible. He had no range at all. He was almost whispering the damn songs.

Exactly. I don't know what all the craziness is about him getting the boot. Because he sucked ass IMO..

On this voting situation... I think they should factor in the judges in this voting system somehow. Maybe similar to what Dancing with the Stars does with its voting system. I think if they did it this way... we would see a totally different outcome in votes.

A change is definitely needed.

The contest is as much a popularity contest as it is a talent competition, and not everyone is inclined to vote in order to see their favorite win, while some are inclined to overvote in order to get their favorite through to the next round. I was at work and I know a few people at the bar with cell phones phoned in to vote for Melinda. She was awesome, and the entire bar was quiet during her performance. Didn't happen with anyone else (I didn't work on the boys' night, so can't comment on that,) Lakisha's good. I loved her performance of "Not Going", but thought 'Midnight Train' was off in spots. She's got a future ahead of her, as does Melinda, no matter what the outcome of the contest. As others have posted, winning doesn't always equal a great career.

If you follow the Dialidol results, Lakisha and Melinda were 1 and 2 both weeks. (Ignore Antoilette. Her vote is rigged by votefortheworst.) As the number of contestants narrows, I think their votes will only increase, if they maintain their level of performing.

Blake- Love him, really do. He is just so original. I have never seen an idol do a song like that. And I LOVE the way he dances.. mhhhm.

Jared- Dude, his eye brows are out of control. Peter Gallagher out of control. To be honest, I don't even remember his performance.

Sanjaya- Why are you still here? I miss AJ Tabaldo, at least he was cute.

Sundance- I didn't like his performance.

Chris R.- I like him. I wasn't impressed by his performance, but he was good.

Chris Sligh- I like his voice, I liked his performance, well his vocals. I wasn't looking at the TV when he sang, which I think helped.

Phil- I didn't enjoy that performance. I liked him before but the beginning totally turned me off of it.

Brandon- Don't remember his.

I really think only like 3 of them should be allowed to go on to the final. I kind of miss the old voting style. I wish they would let them perform, guys first, then ladies, then the bottom 4 go home (meaning it could be 3 guys 1 girl). Just my opinion.

My faves tonight were, as usual, Blake and the two Chris's. I just voted for the 10th time for Blake (hehe) and I gave equal votes to both Chris's. Blake looked soooo good in that tight shirt and those pants LOL. I think they were kinda unfair to Chris S for his great performance.

Poor Sunjaya.......I hope he goes.

You took the words right of out my mouth. I loved Chris Richardson's clip about what America may not know about him. It's inspirational!

The guys were definitely not stellar tonight. It's always fresh seeing Blake do his thing, but as for everyone else (minus the two Chris's), I wasn't feelin' the total commitment.

Here were my thoughts during the show:

01- [Blake Lewis] current, hip-hop/reggae flow; I LIKE A LOT.

02- [Sanjaya Malakar] better than last two times; felt hollow; quote from Simon "maybe your hair is keeping you in;" he clearly needs more time to grow

03- [Sundance Head] what is this song? there is no melody; he's just yelling! I seriously don't understand what he did!

04- [Chris Richardson] good, not stellar...maybe it's the song; quote from Simon "cutesy"

05- [Jared Cotter] bad song; he tried to make it work; his voice doesn't work with this song

06- [Brandon Rogers] feels off; felt off track at first; hollow; an active song to hide a sub-par performance; quote from Simon "not enough melody"

07- [Phil Stacey] started off TOO DEEP; if you can't handle the melody on a song, don't do it! I liked the end though; the song felt short; after warming up to the guy, he performs below his potential

08- [Chris Sligh] here's the melody; showcased his voice well; the best of the night; "song choice"

Who's leaving tomorrow? If America isn't drunk off its ASS tonight, then Sanjaya will definitely leave. Who else? Well...Jared or Sundance may leave. This go round, it's a crap shoot. The only ones that should be safe are the Chris's and Blake...and maybe Phil.

Well hey, at least "House" was fantastic tonight!

Here's to hoping for a better showing from the ladies tomorrow. :gogirl:

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE show tonight.. Blake Lewis is "OK"

But the rest were horrible.. and the bad thing about the whole night is that they couldn't make it up in the looks department. If I am going to stay on this channel and watch horrible singers.. please do provide some eye candy :D

I don't see one that is remotely HOT that makes you jump out of your seat(I've seen much better on college campus).

Come on ladies.. BRING IT!! You don't provide much eye candy but you can actually SING!!!

Blake was sooooooo good tonight. Awesome performance. I don't think he is going to win but he nailed it tonight.

Chris S was the best of a bad bunch. He has a lot of potential, but he hasn't shown enough of it yet. Blake and Chris R have weak voices but a lot of charisma. The rest just stank.

Yeah...it wasn't a good night for the guys! The reason why I think is because of the song choices choosen by everyone. Horrible song choices by some of the guys.
 
American Idol = RACIST

Frenchie(black) was fired from American Idol for nude photos... Antonella(white) was kept on by producesr.. they decided to let the people decide if they wanted her on. But they feed Frenchie to the wolves.

Rosie also mention this on The View as well.. and several news stations are also picking up on this story.. Which I'm happy to see.
