Surge.. please get rid of that damn banner. I didn't like your previous one(didn't find any of them that hot), but it was better than your new one.

Not really. It was "ok". He is definitely right now the best male vocalist.

The true reason people are really into this guy to be HONEST.. because for one he is white, and he sings a style/genre that is influenced by blacks. And the beat boxing is a direct rip off. But now its "cool"

Some reason everyone gets a turn on when I white guy does it(media in general).. the music style or genre becomes "acceptable". Same thing about Taylor.. nothing special about him, but guess what he was singing "soul". So soul became something "special". They actually did have a black soul singer in that competition, but he was voted off. I guess having a white guy sing it.. makes it "cooler". The same thing goes for Eminem and Justin Timberlake. Rip off the music, but never give thanks for those who paved the way.

I can guarantee if a black American Idol contestant was doing the same thing Blake was doing.. he would have been voted off the first week in the top 24. Hell, he probably would have never made it into the competition. There is a reason why all the black male vocalists get voted off so fast.

I only SPEAK THE TRUTH. Some like it, some don't. I'm not saying AI is racist or the voters... but only pointing out the obvious. Lets hope this week is a good week for the Top 10 :D

i mean i really hate assigning color to styles of music and the people who can perform them.
i guess its the term "rip off" that you used that makes me ask that...
i think they are just doing the things they like and their color should not be permission or legitimacy do such or not.

i do agree though that a black guy doing the same might not be as popular.

Not because he is white.. its the fact that if a black person was doing it. It wouldn't have been as popular. Most white artists who use music that was influenced by blacks(majority of music) never give thanks to the originals or mention them in their acceptance speeches. Basically a style that has been used a while by blacks.. becomes mainstream once a white artist uses it.

Basically they use blacks, and steal their music. Of course its the only way it does enter the mainstream.. is through a white artist. But my biggest problem is that their is a young African American male(who could have been in this competition) who does it better but will not have success with it.. because he isn't white. Although it was his people that influenced the music.

I can guarantee that this Blake character has only been exposed to blacks though this competition, but he is ok with stealing the music/style.

I loved Haley tonight. I think she did a great rendition of True Colours! I liked Blake's performance as well as Gina's. Melinda and Lakisha are so boring now. Every year there is someone who has an amazing voice like them... but they couldn't make it in today's music; and unfortunately its them.

I kinda agree about Melinda. She is technically perfect, but she doesn't really have an edge. I like her though. Only performance I liked tonight was Phil. He surprised me. Chris R has a great great voice but he just gets so pitchy sometimes that it throws everything off.
Chris S- why does he have such a problem staying on the beat???
