I dont like how Melinda keeps pretending as if she doesnt know how good a voice she has. She always looks shocked and surprized when all the judges go crazy over her voice.

Ya know, Chris got away with a lot of 'risque' lyrics with 'Geek in the Pink'
because most of the audience had NO idea what the song was about.

It cracks me up when people go gaga over Blake and Chris. Their only draw is that they are somewhat attractive, and even thats not a home run. They fuckin suck as far as music is concerned.
It's all about Lakisha. My girl can blow.

Tonight was up and down for me.

Up--> Blake, Lakisha, Melinda, Gina.

Down---> Chris Sligh, Sanjaya, Haley

Here's my deal now. Lakisha and Melinda are obviously talented and deserve record contracts of some kind. HOWEVER, I feel like they've done the same thing every week, selecting a song that shows how well they can belt a note. Which is why I sorta liked Jordin's performance tonight. She went for a song that would test her abilities instead of coast her way through.

The guys are a mixed bunch. Now, the only ones I pay attention to are Chris R. and Blake. I keep tabs on Chris Sligh, but I DID NOT like his song choice tonight. I've never been a Phil Stacey fan and how can you not see the train wreck that is Sanjaya. As the judges noted this week and last week, Blake does have some solid talent. I would love to see him develop more and more as an artist.

As angry as I already am that SUCKY Sanjaya gets to tour with the AI finalists while more talented singers (e.g. my boo Stephanie) get shafted, I'm hoping that he finally goes soon. His antics are just out of control. If the Queen of Hearts was around, she's say,

"OFF WITH HIS HEAD!"

Cry now, crying girl. CRY.

Mwah-ha-ha-ha!!!!

Sanjaya = Controversy = Ratings = $$$ for the producers and network

I see your point, BUT does American Idol really need Sanjaya's controversy to get ratings? The show has proven to be a mega-giant without the likes of him. The sensible thing to do would be America getting rid of him, but then again, TV these days aren't necessary for the sensible folks.

Look at how much FOX plays it all up with Sanjaya

1. They purposely make his hair retarted like that for the performance
2. Ryan starts the show imitating it
3. In the recap, they talk about it some more

It's so bad what they are doing. People should be ashamed for voting for him.

Fox doesn't style his hair. The stylist said that Sanjaya comes in every week and tells him exactly how to fix it. (And by the way, votefortheworst had 5 MILLION hits at their site last night. If most of them cast even a couple of votes for Sanjaja...well, he'll be around for quite a while.)

I've copied the following from another board I'm a member of...I've brought it here because it's so true.

Americans by definition have loved the underdogs, our founding fathers and our plentiful minutemen were underdogs.

Americans love bending the rules, and sabotage. We broke several rules of war to gain independance, even taking guerilla warfare to drive out the red coats. It's what we were founded on.

So after all these seasons of Idol, with the same thing every year, I don't find it disheartening, in fact, I find it encouragable and hilarious that America is bent on retaining a candidate that admits he's not as good as the others.

Thousands will look back fondly on this season, because people love to hate Sanjaya. Search "Sanjaya" on Facebook, there are 414 groups, most of them "GET SANJAYA OFF OF IDOL" or "KILL SANJAYA" or "THAT FREAKY INDIAN KID LOOKS LIKE A FROG." Americans LOVE TO HATE this kid, and that' shilarious.

And that in itself is a reason to watch Idol, and ROOT for my boy, Sanjaya.

In keeping with honoring America's history: Sanjaya on that stage just makes me wish that John Wilkes Booth was still around with his firearm of choice.

I can't stand Blake...i don't really understand why everyone is all about him....so he beatboxes....that's not original...and stop doing it in every song...and I hated last night when the judges were like you made that song your own....NO HE DIDN'T he sang the 311 version of a Cure song....not original...sorry.

I like Chris Robinson...his voice isn't the best...but i think he definitly will grow more.....I wanna see Jordin make it to the finals...love that girl....Lakisha and Melinda...great voices...but boring neither of them will make it in the mainstream, just like Fantasia didn't really make it in the mainstream....yeah she's successful, but you don't really hear her on the radio all that often do ya?

and Haillie's rendition of True Colors I thought was horrible...usually that song has such a raw passion to it...and when she sang it it was just CHEESE central!

I'm starting to like the idea of Sanjaya sticking around. The whole bending the rules / sabotage thing is kinda becoming appealing (and hilarious). I don't take AI seriously. If I did though, I guess I would be upset.

Wasn't too unhappy to see Chris Sligh leave...he has talent but I haven't enjoyed his performances much since he got into the top 12.That sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom three is unconscionable....Sanjaya is getting more ridiculous and embarassing every week,and if he isn't gone in the next two weeks(Come on counterslammers...get moving and give the saboteurs like votefothe worst.com a taste of their own medicine!)whatever credibility the show has left(NOT THAT MUCH REALLY)will evaporate as camp is rewarded over talent.
