You do realize that addiction and mental illness often go hand in hand? And that this often makes it super difficult for an addict to recover?...

But a solid supportive circle can make all the difference. As I've said over in the Entertainment forum, she was let down by her friends, family and management.

This really sad. I've never been a fan. I've always thought that instead of praising her for her talent, people should have been making sure she got the help she needed.

I recognize her talent though. 'Tears Dry on Their Own' and 'Love is a Losing Game' are actually really really good.

I guess that song 'Rehab' is ironic now, huh?

It's so strange. I remember when the papers not long ago were showing her in (I think) St. Lucia and reporting she was clean and sober, then how quickly it changed. Soon they were reporting she was buying vodka on the way to rehab which is so low.

The weirdest thing to me is, when me and my friend saw the video of her slurring and stumbling about in Serbia recently, we both said she'll be dead very soon.

I wasn't a huge fan but she did have talent and it was a shame she couldn't clean up and bring out a scorching third album. I know that now she's dead her manahement are going to see this as a huge cash cow, releasing albums of unheard material etc. It's a shame.

EDIT: On a lighter note, happy 1000th post to me...

Not immortality but longevity, certainly.

And that something is that it tends to favor those who don't subject their bodies and mind to excessive drug use. Not always but very often.

This is such a sad news.
There will never be another like her. She was an amazing talent and a good person down at the bottom of it. She will be missed.
I treasure her music, it certainly is now a more than valuable legacy she left behind.
