Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

do you want me to recommend or just show you a good anime site and let you explore on your own?

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

^ Yes, definitely, most of the Studio Ghibli stuff is phenomenal.

My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies are two of the most memorable animes I have ever seen. They are great films in their own right, regardless of genre. To help you decide if it's for you, see trailers:

I also recommend Rurouni Kenshin and X/1999 (I believe X/1999 is produced by the same company that did Ghost in the Shell).

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I personally dislike Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Studio Ghibli in general XD

Some Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is awesome, if you haven't seen that yet. Other good ones are Death Note and Code Geass.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Try these:
Chrono Crusade (made me cry in the end)
Stay fate Night
Scryed
Zoids
Twelve Kingdoms (some might find it boring but I liked it)
Read or Die
Ninja Scroll
Persona

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

my ex loved animes. really not my thing but i kinda liked blood and something called "laine" or "elaine"? a very dark and weird cyberpunk thing.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

To OP, I recommend:

Seirei no Moribito - I love this series.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waSwndpzFSU[/ame]

I cant think of any more at the moment, but I will post again later if I remember more.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Death Note + Elfen Lied. That's all you need

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I'd recommend Escaflowne, I remember finding that really good

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I love Cowboy Bebop. It is my favorite anime of all time. It has so much beautiful jazz/blues songs composed by Yoko Kanno.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnbKF_uosrA[/ame]

Tenchi Muyo! is a real good series. Comedy, action, and so much other fun stuff.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzmNRv7yVfk[/ame]

Death Note is a very smart, beautiful series. Very intelligently written.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhzikdFMv7Y[/ame]

Paranoia agent- Directed by Satoshi Kon. Love this series. Interesting, freaky, mystery.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uYmKfteXig[/ame]

Satoshi Kon also directed:

Perfect Blue - A masterpiece of a psychological thriller.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0Rj7nn0ZVs[/ame]

Tokyo Godfathers- The story of three homeless people who find an abandoned new born baby girl (still alive) that they find while rummaging through trash for food. Their stories are so interesting and complex.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q6mcx2qF4Q[/ame]

Paprika - Um, ... fun, fanastic, wild.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJzEW_eE1G0[/ame]

I cant think of any other directed by Satoshi Kon at this moment.

Also, Outlaw star - Fun, funny, sci-fi anime.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCccmIFG1ms[/ame]

Gungrave- Another favorite. A story of trust and betrayal. Follows the story of two best friends as they make their way up from to the top of the criminal underworld and their trials and tribulations to get there. Beautiful anime. Great story.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG1wLnthiC8[/ame]

FLCL- hit or miss. Definetly not my favorite, but it has interesting characters and amazing animation. The story never really makes sense (at all). I am listing this series as less of a recommendation and more of a warning. Some people absolutely love it and think of it as a masterpiece; others think of it as a headache. I tend to agree with the latter.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

One piece.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Ninja Scroll and The Doomed Megalopolis if you can get it. It's banned in th UK, not sure about the states.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

^Both of those movies suck.

If you haven't seen the Evangelion series, it's considered anime fan blasphemy. You don't want to be a blasphemer and not see it right?

I'd definitely start with the classics. No one should live a life without watching Akira at least 27 times.

Tekkon Kinkreet was dope, and Samurai Champloo is definitely word.
